Clinton Skye’s “special assignment” must have really been something, because the long-absent FBI: Most Wanted character will not be back at all for Season 3.
A spokesperson for CBS‘ fifth most watched drama confirms that, as suggested by a recent Instagram post, Nathaniel Arcand’s run with the series has ended.
‘Moving On, Moving Forward, Don’t Look Back… #clintonskye,” the actor posted last month, alongside a personal photo of him in character. “Must Say Bye. Bye.”
FBI Special Agent Clinton Skye was one of the most experienced agents on Special Agent Jess LaCroix’s team, and a member of Mohawk Nation. A deadly marksman with a law degree, he is also Jess’ brother-in-law and Tali’s uncle.
The character last appeared on-screen three episodes into the FBI spinoff’s second season, and since then has been on “special assignment,” CBS repeatedly maintained when asked.
During his FBI: Most Wanted absence, Arcand filmed roles for, among other projects, a June episode of The CW’s Kung Fu and the recent Hallmark pic The Baker’s Son.

That really stinks. Clinton was my favorite. A calm sea amidst often hyper and dramatic co-stars. I will miss him. And it really stinks that we are losing one of the few Native American characters on prime time.
I agree. There are no role models for the Native Americans. It is really a shame. He showed that they can be strong, articulate and successful people.
Agree
I agree as well. Skye was my favorite character on the show and was actually one of the reasons I started watching the show as I had no faith in this spin-off from the promos. I thought LaCroix having a native american family was a nice change of pace and actually humanized LaCroix and made what he did for a job make more sense. Now even the grand-parents (Lorne Cardinal & Irene Bedard) have lost their jobs it seems. I may continue watching as I actually like Miguel Gomez (was a fan from The Strain). So I guess ill just have to wait and see as I can say for a fact covid did have a major impact on alot of network tv stories.
Amen to that..
Agree wholeheartedly!
Very sad to see him go. The team is missing something without Clinton’s senior agent presence.
Let’s face it he didn’t get much screen time so was ready to move on to where he was appreciated.
I’m sorry to see him go. I liked Clinton n his family. I also preferred him over the new guy. I noticed too that they focused more on Jess’ side of family. I wonder if we’ll till see Tali’s maternal grandparents next season?
Clinton was also one of my favorites on that show. he brought an interesting insight . not all FBI agents are white or colour. please get another Clinton Skye or bring him back in certain episodes . not gonna be the same without him
What?
Her maternal grandparents have been on the show, they are usually the ones that watch Tali when Jess runs off.
Actually shortly after Clinton left they said her grandparents went on a cruise or something like that. After that her paternal grandfather n his fiancee has been staying at Jess’ house. We haven’t seen them since.
I thought that was so stupid since it is the grandparents’ house! They had mentioned in the first season that after Jesse’s wife died that he and Tali moved in with his late wife’s family so Tali would still be “close” to her mom. I enjoyed learning about the Native American & First Nations customs they sprinkled throughout the episodes. FBI:MW introduced me to the horrific “Indian Schools” & the barbaric church practices. With Canada finding those 300 children’s bodies last month I had a frame of reference about WHY it was only recently disclosed. This seems like a very bad time to lose the main Indigenous actor. Plus Clinton was just such a cool character.
Literally. He was the most chilled character on the show.
100% agree!!!!!
I liked him on this show and I liked him on Heartland. He’s a great actor. There are so few Native Americans in Tv and movies. I wish he was back in both shows. He was the calmest and nicest of all the agents.
I know that Arcand and the actor that play the grandfather are Canadian (don’t know about the grandmother actress) I figured their absence had something to do with the travel restrictions with Covid. I was really looking forward to them returning, It’s rare to see such prominent Indigenous characters on a network show and I liked the perspective their characters brought.
No offense but I’m 45 so kind of old and he is gone bc he looked like an old man. Julian is the old man. The new guy is a young new guy. CBS is already an old person network this was the right move.
Btw I am starting to like this FBI better than the mother ship. Julian is extremely charismatic and so are the women. And John Locke from Lost!!
Lame. I like the actor and missed him this season. They need to bring him back to Heartland.
Man, I hate that. Took long enough to explain he would not be back. Really liked his character. I don’t like how the series is getting away from Jess’ in-laws and now focused on his father and girlfriend.
Agree 100%%
I love clinton but wish they recast another actor for the same role, the show is still young. the dynamic between jess and his brother in law is good and a lot to explore.
What a shame. Really liked his character. Why do shows always get rid of the good actors. Will miss him. I wondered where he was. Success on all your future endeavours
The only reason I watched FBI or Most Wanted was because of NCIS being on Tuesday night. I’m not a big fan of either FBI shows, but did like the In-Law elements of Most Wanted. I’ll just tune into another network now that NCIS has been moved to Monday nights.
Man what a shame. His character was really interesting and funny at times. I wonder if there was something dodgy behind the scenes that led to the “special assignment” that became permanent? Unless he was busy with other projects. Its giving me Kristin from FBI vibes when she disappeared between series 2 and 3.
I liked Agent Skye! And there definitely isn’t enough Native representation on TV.
Finally they confirm it. What took so long? I figured he won’t be back, when they replaced him with other agent. Sucks they didn’t give him at least better exit than just mention he’s on assignment from which he will never return
An excellent actor. He will be missed by everyone who watches the show. I hope to see him in another series. Good luck.
Man that sucks. Losing Clinton means they will likely not keep up with Tali’s grandparents, which were centering scenes on the show. Here hoping the writers see sense and bring the parents back, even if they’ve moved on from Clinton, which I think is a mistake.
Why won’t CBS just tell the truth and then the fans can move on. Not knowing creates bad feelings, if it’s something behind the scenes or a more personal reason, just explain to the viewers so we can move on.
Love fbi most wanted not sad he is going lts his decision
It seems like with losing him, Tali’s Native side of her family aren’t going to show up anymore and they’re going to focus on Jess’ side. Losing 3 Native characters/actors from a show is a huge blow for many reasons and I am really bummed. I hope we get more of an explanation. I really loved the dynamic between Clint and Jess too. Clint was an incredible character. All the best to Nathaniel though. TV/movies need to see more Native faces.
That truly sucks!!!There were scenes with Clinton where he’s expressing his heritage, which led to me educating myself about the background story to which he spoke, which,in the great scheme of things, makes us all better understand each other. I really HATE most Americans concept of Native Americans, in terms of television portrayals, is limited to those from The Lone Ranger or Daniel Boone
I really enjoyed the Native perspective the characters brought to the show and it’s so rare on a network tv show to have the Native characters and storylines they had. I had hoped the absence was just temporary and had to do with covid travel restrictions since the actors are Canadian.
Would rather have Clinton than LaCroix’s girlfriend storyline.
Oh yeah I don’t like Jess New girlfriend
Anytime!!!!
I really loved his character! I’ve already been missing him!
I liked him as the vet, Scott, in Heartland.
It’s sad that hes not coming back. I really enjoyed his character on FBI most wanted, I wish if he would change his mind and come back. I did see him in the Baker’s son and on Kung Fu also, But I Really would like to see him back on FBI most wanted cause he was a kick ass sniper and tracker
This is horrible. We kept waiting for Nathaniel (Clinton) to come back. And also, where’d his parents go? It’s like the disappearing family. I felt they helped ground the show.
This father she step mother visiting Jess is not the same.
Probably upstairs with Chuck Cunningham
Hopefully they write out the extremely irritating Tali now
Hate to see good actors go sometimes the show is not the same when the actors leave that actually started the show but I will keep watching cuz I am a number one fan let me know if any other changes thank you
the got rid of clinton to make room for jess’ white girlfriend… pass
So sad…
Maybe he will pop up on heartland.
But honestly he deserves his own show.he’s super talented
That’s a great idea! Create a spin-off FBI series about Native Americans based in Canada with Clinton as the lead character. Then you could in his parents and maybe Tali too.
I really like him and his character! There is no native Americans actors already as it is!
So sad to see him go. I really enjoyed watching him on FBI most wanted.
