STANFORD, Calif. - Competing as an individual for San Francisco,
Jakob Melin left it all on the course this week as the sophomore tied for 26
th overall at the NCAA Division I Stanford Regional, which was hosted by Stanford University at Stanford Golf Course.
TOURNAMENT RESULTS:
- Beginning the week as the third ranked individual in the field, Melin kicked off his second straight NCAA appearance by firing a 71 across his first 18 holes, which put him in a tie for 36th after the first round. Notably, the sophomore recorded four birdies on Monday.
- Moving into round two, Melin shot one under (69) on the day to climb three spots into a tie for 33rd overall. In this round, he recorded three birdies, which included finding success on hole 7 again.
- On his final day, the second year Don shot a 72 across his third round, which included two birdies on holes 7 and 11.
- Overall, Melin finished at 2-over-212 (71, 69, 72) as he totaled 34 pars and nine birdies throughout his three rounds of action.
