Rick prime is alive?

Theory

So this is just a theory, in season 7 episode 2 '' the jerrick trap'' when both rick and Jerry die in the garage after they've swapped their brains, a device that rick had built in the garage patched them up, so maybe rick prime had something similar and after rick and evil morty left he was patched up.

what do you think about this?

He’s plainly dead. The show went through extra effort to communicate that to the viewer. It would be awful writing if he weren’t.

… they don’t show his dead body, which is like the oldest ‘he’s ALIVE’ trope in the history of theater/television/movies. They even draw attention to it by EM saying it wasn’t “an alive amount of blood” on Rick.

Prime is alive because Prime and 137 are the same person.

They go out of their way to show Evil Morty disconnect his clones. And him saying “it’s not exactly an alive amount of blood” is to be even more clear that Prime is dead.

The show makes it painfully clear he is dead.

Prime is alive because Prime and 137 are the same person.

They are not.

So painfully clear that they don’t show him dead? A guy we know to have the means to heal and/or respawn anywhere?

They are definitely the same guy, the writers are all about the Joseph Campbell symbolism and story structures. Rick detests time travel for a reason.

He went into the Dagoba cave to confront his nemesis, found himself, and is thrust into the abyss where he can only emerge after achieving atonement - not with his father but with his other self. That’s why he’s morose after “killing” Prime. He understands the battle rages within, nothing’s resolved.

Again, they explicitly show Evil Morty disconnecting his clones.

They are definitely the same guy

They are not.

That’s why he’s morose after “killing” Prime.

No, he’s morose because he killed his white whale and it didn’t give him the closure he wanted. The show also plainly spells this out.

Rick Prime is dead, however. Evil Morty is clearly still a threat

Maybe evil morty is a friend now, because before he left he said to rick that he's different and he could maybe use that.

He still a threat, he clearly has the ability to take out a high level Rick and he has access to the omega device

He might now be an enemy right now but he still a threat

I mean evil morty doesn't care about ricks anymore since he's out of the central finite curve, and he wanted the omega device not because he wants to use it(he made that clear when he said that a device like this doesn't get you left alone and he didn't want vengeful summers coming after him) but maybe because he didn't want it to fall in the wrong hands.

I believe that would undermine a lot of the show's credibility. "We did it. We finally did it. HAAA GACHA!"

Fuck that. :p

They could literally do anything in R&M. The question is, why the F would they?

I mean, they're dealing with an infinite multiverse. There could be a Rick identical to Prime, only he pronounces aluminum "alyuminium." But just because they can doesn't mean they should.

Edited

I feel like rick prime is one of a kind, i mean how could 2 rick primes kill diane across infinity twice? and we've already seen a lot of ricks who also wanted to avenge their wife by killing rick prime, so what are the chances of them not finding someone that atleast looks like rick prime when they were looking for him(maybe they did but we wouldn't know).

I feel like Rick was smart enough (obviously) to destroy any technology that would do that, but it would be an interesting twist if Rick Prime came back again, it would definitely prolong the series which would be great

It wouldn’t be lazy writing to assume the guy that couldn’t be killed would make a comeback but I think Rick prime represented more than just that character; I believe primes death was a send off message from the current cast to Roiland.

The episode was done before he was fired.
