i loved all 4 years here. There is nothing I would want to change. Everyone treats each other like family.
My overall experience with Sewanahka HS has been amazing. I came here when I was in 9th grade and since then it has been amazing! I have learned so many things, and will forever be grateful for all of the opportunities I have gotten!
Its a good school but administration is very strict with the kids. My experience was good, lots of ups and downs but most of the time theirs always someone whilling to help. most of the teachers are nice and actually care.
Overall, I would say that my time in sewanhaka was pretty good. I’ve had a lot of helpful and kind teachers, I’ve made friends with interesting people, and I learned and grew during my time here.
Um. Where do I even start? I was moved from Georgia after living there for 5+ years and moved to Sewanhaka HS since Junior year. I graduate this year. The behavior is very strange. You would get that vibe the second you step into the school. Most students aren’t welcoming or respectful of each other the teachers actually seem like they care about you and your mental health. Shout out to Mr. Anderson, Mrs. Cherson, Mrs. Schiro, ,Mrs. Winter, and Mrs. Sicherman! I don’t even know where to start for the security. They gossip about other teachers and students and barely keep the place secure. Students vape and smoke weed in the bathrooms and girls pile up in the bathroom one stall full of girls doing nonsense. The only thing I will say is great is the CTE program I attend a Culinary Arts program and my instructor Mrs. Leonardo is phenomenal! I don’t know what the school lunch is giving but heard bad stuff about that. The school is also DIRTY. Overall, I am glad this is my last year here.
Very nice experience, came here to attend Prestige Academy and I like the environment and teachers here.
I have been going to school at sewanhaka high school since 7th grade and I feel like that this school could better improve the academic involvement between students and faculty
Sewanhaka High School is an overall great school for many students. From what I was able to experience, the best parts are the academics and the sports. The academics are only challenging and difficult if you choose to make them so. I personally have taken the choice to take the hardest possible classes to get the best education possible. On the other hand, the sport culture at Sewanhaka is on the rise. The worst parts are the school culture and food. Many kids are smoking weed and vaping in the bathrooms. The food is also getting more and more diverse however the quality is still sub par. Overall great school with just a few nicks in its sword
Sewanhaka High School is a very interesting school when it comes to being an ex-student. I had my best experiences and low experiences here. The best was the people who you surrounded yourself. From students to teachers. The lowest i think was the time the pandemic hit. It threw everyone in a new chapter in life. As much as sewanhaka did their best with remote learning it wasn’t their strong suite. But with everyone we managed to get through even if it wasn’t the best.
Fun place to be all the teachers can be both friendly and strict at the same time. The staff made the years enjoyable and a same space to not only learn but to be yourself. Sewanhaka has and will keep producing many amazing people who will affect society in some way. Whether it something small like providing others with resources they would be able to access on their or to become a CEO of a major company that will affect the way people live. We never know but time will only tell.
My experience at sewanhaka was a long 6 years but I did enjoy my time. I made friends and have many memories. A couple of my years were cut short due to Covid but my class and I made the best of it. I’m very happy to be an Alum of Sewanhaka as of June 2023.
My experience with school was very challenging and overcoming my personal struggles was not an easy feat. I started Kindergarten with an Individualized Education Program (IEP) and I’m thankful that my preschool teacher recognized my learning challenges and encouraged my parents to have me evaluated. They held me to high expectations, just like their other students, and helped me reach them with one-on-one help. Because of their help and guidance, I was able to graduate from high school, go to college and receive a bachelor's degree in mathematics. This feat was something that many people, including myself, did not think possible. While my speech has improved over the years, it will always be a challenge for me and require continual work, I put in the work to help overcome my disability because I will not let it overcome me. Even though my issues are extremely challenging, I continue to strive for the best. Through my educational journey, I learned that I wanted to be a teacher. Enjoyd
Sewanhaka High School is generally a good school to be in. The administration, faculty, and staff are very enjoyable to be around and helpful in many ways. They are always available when you require their help, and they create a comfortable and welcoming environment for the students. Along with this, the various programs and extracurricular activities that are available within the high school allow for you to be part of something greater within the community.
The best parts about Sewanhaka are the diversity and the academics. It was great having people from all kinds of cultures in one building because it allowed us to understand, appreciate, and indulge in them through events like International Night which featured performances from student groups as well as school clubs like French Club. The academics of Sewanhaka are good because there's a lot of different career paths you can begin to pursue. For me personally, I enrolled in Instrumentation and Automation and was able to get an introduction into the world of programming and robotics.
Sewanhaka High School is a very diverse smart school. It helped shapes me to the person I am today, especially the classes they offer.
Sewanhaka is a school where I feel welcomed and safe. I am getting the most out of my education and I feel confident in my next steps towards college.
The school is diverse and has many learning options to fit your needs and to help you with your potential career path. The teaching is great!
