The Plus icon at the top right corner of the screen can be used to create a new Instagram post, Story, Reel, or start a Livestream. The Messenger icon next to the plus icon lets you access your direct messages. You can also merge your Facebook Messenger with Instagram DMs. If the icon looks familiar it’s because it is the same one as Facebook Messenger.
