How do I apply to study at WAAPA?

The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) offers a comprehensive range of performing arts training with internationally recognised courses, providing a balance of practical knowledge and academic excellence. You can explore the disciplines  we offer on WAAPA's website.

Entry Requirements

Entry into WAAPA's courses is talent-based and highly competitive due to limited places. When applying you will undergo a comprehensive audition process.

For WAAPA's Vocational Certificate and Diploma courses, you generally need to have completed the equivalent of Year 10 at high school.

Bachelor level studies have specific entry requirements outlined on the relevant course page . If you are unsure if you meet the academic requirements, you are welcome to apply and go through the audition process with the option to nominate a Diploma program as a second preference.

Minimum age requirements apply to WAAPA courses.

Application Process

You will need to apply directly through ECU's Application Portal.

WAAPA has one intake a year (Semester 1, February commencement) with applications opening around July and typically closing around September/October.

Detailed guidelines can be found in the application and audition pack for your course, accessible from the WAAPA Course and Admissions page. This pack outlines audition/interview requirements, application deadlines, and audition fee details.

After submitting your online application and paying your audition fee, our Student Hub will schedule your audition/s. Keep an eye on your email (including spam folder) for communications.
