Personal device entertainment
On most flights, you can stream our library of movies and TV shows to your phone, tablet or laptop without buying Wi-Fi. All you need is the American Airlines app on your phone or tablet. All entertainment is free – watch it everywhere on Wi-Fi equipped American Airlines flights.*
*Entertainment may not be available until the plane reaches 10,000 feet.
Phone or tablet
- Download the American Airlines app before takeoff
- Enable airplane mode and connect to the "AA-Inflight" Wi-Fi signal
- If you are not redirected, open a browser and enter "aainflight.com"
- Select "View free entertainment" or the entertainment button/icon
- Select your movie or TV show
Laptop
- Connect to the "AA-Inflight" Wi-Fi signal
- If you are not redirected, open a browser and enter "aainflight.com"
- Select your movie or TV show
How to use device holder
On flights with personal device entertainment, we have device holders in front of each seat you can use to hold your phone or tablet for hands-free viewing.
- On the back of the seat in front of you, look above the tray table latch for the lever switch. Gently pull the lever and a small tray will drop down.
- Place your device into the holder by continuing to lift the lever at the top of the holder.
- Use the lever to adjust the holder to the size of your device, making sure it's snug and secure and won't slip out.
- Remember to adhere to airline safety guidelines, including stowing away devices during takeoff and landing.
Seatback Entertainment
On select flights, you can enjoy free movies, TV shows, music and games on a seatback screen.
