A 53-year History on Stage
"We could have had three or even five Maffay events," Eva states, and she's not wrong. Many present enjoy close relationships with the industry legend - some are even influenced by his work. For example, Eva was too nervous to play the lead role in a "Tabaluga" performance, prompting her to never let such a moment happen again. She would eventually join her first band. Germany's beloved rocker, Sammy, once partied to Maffay's tunes, and Eva's daughter is obsessed with his work.
Anticipating this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, Peter plans to embark on a final grand tour. He wants to make the most of spending time with his young daughter. "My family is incredibly special to me," he explains. Moving past the present, Peter shares insightful stories from his past. "I discovered music at the age of fourteen," revealing his first producer, Michael Kunze, guided his journey into pop. As a rocker, he opened for the iconic Rolling Stones for six concerts in 1982. Despite boos and bottles of Coke, Peter endured, learning valuable lessons along the way.
As the evening draws to a close, Peter surprises Johannes with a "Boss" version of Oerding's hit "Blinde Passagiere." The intimate glimpse into the life of a music legend leaves everyone in awe.
