Charlie Wernham, who plays Aaron Monroe in EastEnders, has tied the knot with his partner Emma Collis.

The couple got married at the Gosfield Hall wedding venue in Essex – and the news was actually confirmed by his former colleagues from Hollyoaks who shared some photos from the big day.

Jessica Ellis posted a selection of photos from the wedding on her Instagram page, including one of Charlie and Emma sitting together at the top table during the wedding reception.

"Well thank you very much mr and mrs wernham for the most amazing day!" she wrote. "We feel so honoured to have been part of your special day!"

Two more former Hollyoaks stars, real-life couple Daisy Wood-Davis and Luke Jerdy, shared well-wishes for the newlyweds on Instagram, as well as a couple of photo of themselves together at the venue.

"Celebrating Mr & Mrs Wernham's happily ever after," the couple wrote in their joint post.

Daisy also shared some photos and video to Instagram Stories, including a look at the newlyweds descending the staircase inside the venue to applause and cheers from their guests.

Charlie and Emma got engaged on Valentine's Day last year and have been together for over seven years.

Prior to joining EastEnders last year, Charlie was a regular Hollyoaks cast member between 2013 and 2016, playing Robbie Roscoe.

His previous TV credits include Bad Education, The Inbetweeners and Britain's Got Talent, where he made the semi-finals in 2008 performing stand-up comedy.

EastEnders airs on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One and streams on BBC iPlayer.
