We are thrilled to announce Julie Shultz-Bartlett as the incoming Deputy Director of Schools for the Peninsula School District, effective from the 2024-2025 school year.

Julie Shultz-Bartlett brings a rich pedigree of experience with over 25 years in teaching and leadership across diverse K-12 environments. Since 2015, she has excelled in her role as a principal for both middle and high schools within the Bethel School District. This year, she has further augmented her credentials by earning the Washington State Superintendent Credential from Pacific Lutheran University.

Her familiarity with PSD is deep-rooted, having previously contributed as an instructional coach at Harbor Heights Elementary and Voyager Elementary from 2006 to 2009.

In her own words, Julie expresses, "I am excited to join the PSD team. Having spent nearly my entire life in Gig Harbor, I am eager to leverage my passion for education and my commitment to student success in this new capacity. I look forward to collaborating with PSD’s dedicated educators and serving our community."

The role of Deputy Director of Schools is pivotal within our district. Julie will be instrumental in supporting the Chief of Schools to propel our schools towards exceptional achievement, innovation, and ongoing enhancement. Her responsibilities will include fostering leadership skills, enhancing educational programs, and ensuring our schools operate in harmony with our district’s strategic goals. Working closely with school leaders and the Chief Academic Officer of the Teaching and Learning Department, Julie will also champion the adoption of innovative educational strategies.
