A celebrity couple you probably, totally, forgot about was with Jamie Dornan and Keira Knightley. Before they both found their spouses, the two were one of the beloved A-list couples people wanted to know everything about, despite being quite private at the time.
Fast forward to 2024, and Dornan’s conversation about why they split after two years together is going viral again.
In a conversation the Mail on Sunday, which was resurfaced by The Mirror this past week, Dornan says he broke up with her because he couldn’t handle the fame she was getting.

“There is a big pressure when you go out with someone like Keira,” he said. “You can feel a bit second-rate and that’s what started to happen. It’s not like I was bringing the bread to the table – and that can start to affect everything. Keira could see what I was going through and it would have been better if I’d kept it hidden from her.”
He then made a super controversial comment, which he backtracked later, per InStyle, saying, “The man is meant to be the Alpha in the relationship on the money and power front and clearly I was not. You feel you have to be dominant in other areas and that leads to problems.” Okay, dude.
While they were together from 2003 to 2005, after meeting on a shoot for Asprey, they both ended up married by 2013.
