Tanishaa Mukerji is excited about stepping into a new journey with Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11. The actor has been part of shows like Bigg Boss 7 and Khatron Ke Khiladi 7 and ended up as a finalist in both shows. After a long break from the screen, Tanishaa said that she is considering the dance reality show as a gift from God, and the right step to restart in the industry.

“Honestly, I was a little apprehensive about getting back to reality space again. After my last show (KKK), no good opportunity came my way. I didn’t get anything but I was offered Jhalak after Bigg Boss the last time but I didn’t do it. When the opportunity came again, I took it as a gift from God and jumped at it. I got a final go-ahead when I was in Kedarnath, and I took it as a sign. I was like, ‘Jo hoga ab dekha jayega,'” she told indianexpress.com.

Tanishaa made her Bollywood debut with YRF’s Neal n Nikki but could not push her career ahead. However, the actor said that she never got bitter about the lack of opportunities as she felt it was her shortcomings. She added, “I have always believed that you’d get what you deserve. I may not have been working hard enough to get those parts. But you see, I may have gotten opportunities that other people could not. So I never get sour about things but would rather work toward improving myself. It’s tough, yes, and I need to work hard but that’s the growth I want in life.”

Being a Bollywood star, we also wondered if it ever felt like a step down to be participating in a show like this, rather than being a judge. To this, Tanishaa replied, “Not at all. I think everyone competing here has achieved a lot in their sphere. I feel honoured to be sharing the stage with Sangeeta Phogat, who is an Asian silver medal winner. She has done so much for our country. And then be it Urvashi Dholakia or even Karuna Pandey, they have been consistently working for years. All of them are achievers for me,” she added.

Talking about her future projects, Tanishaa Mukerji said that cinema took a backseat for the last few years. “Because of Covid, nothing much was happening. As for OTT, I haven’t been offered anything exciting yet. But it’s also because they haven’t seen me do anything in the past year. I hope after Jhalak, I get those opportunities. Once people see my work, they can offer me some good roles. I really hope Jhalak gives me that platform to show myself in a different light. But I am also channeling my energies, as I am doing my first Marathi film soon. I want to also do a Bengali film.”
