Allendale Columbia School Reviews
Rating 3.98 out of 5 94 reviews
As a parent of a senior who just graduated, and is now navigating the college experience, I have a deep appreciation for what Allendale Columbia did for our child. Somehow, while still maintaining excellent academics, AC has been able to think about education and the student experience differently. Many of my child's classmates went into Ivy League colleges, and the college counselor and head of Upper School understood each student to get to know what makes them tick. Having been there from middle school on, it is now clear to me that this school did individualize the experience for my child for a road map of success and belonging. We will miss it, and would highly recommend AC for any family hoping that school brings joy, community, safety, and personal and intellectual challenge.
My kids were lifers; meaning kindergarten-graduation. Worth every penny. My two were college ready! My son attended Harvard university and daughter attended Pratt University, Brooklyn.
Allendale Columbia School is an excellent school with a tight-knit community. My favorite part of the Allendale community is the supportive, passionate, and caring teachers whom I can always count on for engaging conversations. Additionally, Allendale encourages students to take an active role in the community, whether through participating in a speak-up forum, holding positions in student government, or providing feedback on various school matters. The school also fosters a progressive learning environment, prioritizing collaboration and hands-on work. At Allendale, all community members know each other. While the student body comprises of diverse backgrounds and personalities, most students are uniquely special and somewhat eccentric. In comparison to the Harley School, both schools are quite similar, but the choice ultimately depends on one's interests and personal vibe. By visiting both schools, you will be able to determine which one suits you best.
