Gunpowder Milkshake features a star-studded cast in a female-led assassin thriller. The story blends action with comedy in the hands of several legendary actresses and actors, and centers upon an assassin who goes rogue from her company to save a little girl in trouble, bringing the wrath of multiple villains down on her at once. In order to survive, she reconnects with her mother, another elite hitwoman, and the sisterhood of assassins she was once a part of.
With a heart of endearing family dynamics and action in the style of John Wick featuring a martial arts icon in the cast, Gunpowder Milkshake is set to be a thrilling ride from start to finish. The film is director Navot Papushado‘s English-language debut, and he also co-wrote the movie with Ehud Lavski. Featuring a star-studded cast, there is no shortage of talent on display here and fans can look forward to seeing a great deal of that talent interact together onscreen.
With criminals, gangsters, and a shadowy organization on their heels, the team of assassins will require all their skills to come out on top. The cast is one of Gunpowder Milkshake’s foremost strengths, featuring three generations of beloved actresses and a host of intimidating antagonists.
Karen Gillan as Sam
Karen Gillan plays Sam, an assassin for The Firm who goes rogue when she finds a little girl caught in the crosshairs of her latest job. Gillan rocketed to international acclaim as Amy Pond, the Eleventh Doctor’s long-running companion in Doctor Who. Since then, she has starred in multiple movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Nebula, as well as Eliza Dooley in Selfie and Ruby in 2017's Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and its 2019 sequel, The Next Level.
Lena Headey as Scarlet
Lena Headey plays Scarlet, Sam’s estranged mother who used to be part of a sisterhood of elite assassins. Headey is best known for her role as Cersei Lannister in Game of Thrones, but she has appeared in many other major roles, such as Sarah Connor in Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles, Queen Gorgo in 300, and Lady Catherine de Bourgh in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.
Chloe Coleman as Emily
Chloe Coleman plays Emily, the girl who Sam must protect after she gets caught in the middle of a war between criminals. Coleman appeared as Skye Carlson in Big Little Lies and starred alongside Dave Bautista in My Spy.
Angela Bassett as Anna May
Angela Bassett plays Anna May, a member of the sisterhood of assassins that comes to Sam and Scarlet’s aid. Bassett is a household name who has played a long list of iconic roles, including Tina Turner in What’s Love Got to Do with It, Betty Shabazz in Malcolm X, Voletta Wallace in Notorious, and Wakandan Queen Ramonda in Black Panther.
Michelle Yeoh as Florence
Michelle Yeoh plays Florence, another member of the sisterhood of assassins. Yeoh started her career in martial arts films in which she often did her own stunts, becoming internationally known for her roles as Yu Shu Lien in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and Wai Lin in the James Bond movie Tomorrow Never Dies. More recently, she appeared as Phillipa Georgiou in Star Trek: Discovery and Eleanor Young in Crazy Rich Asians.
Carla Gugino as Madeleine
Carla Gugino plays Madeleine, a Canadian member of the sisterhood of assassins. Gugino is best known for starring roles such as Olivia Crain in Netflix's The Haunting of Hill House, and film roles like Silk Spectre in Watchmen, Laurie Roberts in American Gangster, Rebecca Hutman in Night at the Museum, and Ingrid Cortez in the Spy Kids trilogy.
Paul Giamatti as Nathan
Paul Giamatti plays Nathan, a representative of The Firm who works with Sam until she goes rogue. Giamatti earned acclaim for his television roles like the titular character in HBO’s John Adams and Chuck Rhoades in Billions. He also has a long resume of memorable film roles, such as Sergeant William Hill in Saving Private Ryan, Miles Raymond in Sideways, Harvey Pekar in American Splendor, Joe Gould in Cinderella Man, Theophilus Freeman in 12 Years a Slave, and Nicholas Claus in Fred Claus.
Ralph Ineson as Jim McAlester
Ralph Ineson plays Jim McAlester, an Irish gangster. Ineson appeared as Chris Finch in The Office, Amycus Carrow in the Harry Potter films, William in The Witch, and Dagmar Cleftjaw in Game of Thrones. He also voiced The Hunter in The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.

Ivan Kaye as Yankee: A criminal pursuing Sam. Kaye is best known for his role as King Aelle in Vikings, as well as Ludovico Sforza in The Borgias.
Freya Allan as Young Sam: The younger version of Gillan’s Sam. She is best known for her role as Ciri on The Witcher, and she also appeared as young Minerva in Into the Badlands and Kail in The Third Day.
Adam Nagaitis as Virgil: Nagaitis has appeared as Vasily Ignatenko in Chernobyl, as well as Cornelius Hickey in The Terror and the conductor Jimmy in The Commuter.
Michale Smiley as Dr. Ricky: Smiley previously played Benny Silver in Luther, Dr. Evazan in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and the physician in The Other Boleyn Girl.
David Burnell IV as Shocker: An associate of Yankee’s. He appeared as Ethan McElory in Whiskey Cavalier and Danny in The Salzburg Story.
