The Indian Premier League 2024 auction list announced was announced on Monday, 11 December. World Cup winner Travis Head and Pat Cummins lead 333 player list who are set to go under the hammer on December 19 in Dubai.

IPL 2024 Auction: Full List of Players in Top Brackets

The Indian Premier League is expected to return in March, slightly ahead of its usual schedule to accommodate the T20 World Cup 2024, set to be played in the month of June in the West Indies and the United States of America. A total of 333 players have registered for the much-anticipated auction process, where potentially 77 players can be sold to the 10 franchises. The franchises have a combined total of Rs 262.95 crore left in the purse. Gujarat Titans have the biggest purse left with them after they traded their captain Hardik Pandya to Mumbai Indians. Gujarat will go into the auction with Rs 38.15 crore in their purse.

Players In Rs 2 Crore Bracket

23 players in total have put themselves in the Rs 2 crore bracket in IPL 2024 auction. 20 overseas players including Harry Brook, Travis Head, Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins have put their names in the most expensive bracket. On the other hand, three Indian players have put themselves in the top bracket, namely - Harshal Patel, Umesh Yadav, and Shardul Thakur.

Surprisingly, young New Zealand star Rachin Ravindra has not put himself in the Rs 2 crore price tag despite having a sensational ODI World Cup 2023 campaign. Rachin has kept himself in the Rs 50 lakh bracket. Apart from Rachin, Afghanistan all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai, who is expected to draw a lot of attention in the auction has also kept himself in the Rs 50 lakh bracket.

Surprise Omission

England pacer Jofra Archer has pulled his name out of the IPL auction after a brief appearance for Mumbai Indians in the 2023 tournament. Archer, who is injured at the moment, might have been requested by the English and Wales Cricket Board to stay out of action, keeping future tournaments in mind.

IPL 2024 Auction: Major Absentees

As many as 85 players were released on the Indian Premier League 2024 retention deadline day with the biggest news of the day coming from the Gujarat Titans camp. Mumbai Indians completed the trade of Hardik Pandya from Gujarat even after the retentions were announced on Sunday.

There were some big names who were released and the biggest of them was Jofra Archer as the England pacer, who has been battling multiple injury concerns, was shown the door by Mumbai Indians. Ben Stokes and Joe Root were among the players who pulled out of IPL 2024 due to workload management.

Harry Book, the big-ticket England batter was bought by SunRisers Hyderabad for Rs 13.25 crore last year, was released by the 2016 champions. Meanwhile, Sam Curran was retained by Punjab Kings while Cameron Green was retained by Mumbai Indians amid contrasting reports.
