Virginia Beach Hotels

A Quintessential American Beach Town

Virginia Beach’s 35-miles of white, sandy shores are alive with endless aquatic adventures, fresh seafood and fine dining, beach and surf shops, and nature expeditions. Each of the three distinct beaches --Resort Area, Sandbridge, and Chesapeake Bay-- offer their own personality and unique experience for all who visit. Enjoy land-based activities including strolling the boardwalk, taking in the sights along the many hiking and biking trails, or exploring a historic lighthouse that’s guided many sailors home. Splash into the fun with a bounty of family activities that includes up-close adventures with marine animals, fishing, and gliding across the water in a variety of vessels including paddleboards, kayaks and jet skis. After a day in the sun, choose from a range of dining options that serve up everything from fresh seafood to locally produced craft beers.

Resort Area
Dive right into the action in the Resort Area, where you can ride a surfboard, splash in the waves, race jet skis, get a birds-eye view from a parasail, or catch dinner aboard a fishing charter at Rudee Inlet. Grab a net or a bucket and get crabby at the Virginia Beach fishing pier and learn all about the many species of crabs who call the Atlantic Ocean home.

Nearby, the kids will love a visit to the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center to get a glimpse of marine life up close. Stroll or rollerblade along the 3-mile oceanfront Virginia Beach Boardwalk and you’ll be greeted by two sea guardians of sorts: the Norwegian Lady who stands at the Naval Aviation Monument Park and King Neptune, who rises 34-feet above the shore in the heart of Neptune Park. Don’t miss top shopping and dining options of all cuisines at Virginia Beach Town Center. After a long day at the beach, entertain yourself with Broadway tours and comedy shows at the Funny Bone.

Chesapeake Bay
For some calmer waters, head up Shore Drive to Chesapeake Bay. Swim, sunbathe, or spike a volley ball for a relaxing beach day. When the sun goes down, round out the day with a stunning sunset view from the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. Then grab a night cap at one of Virginia Beach’s best restaurants and sip some local craft beers. For other daytime activities, launch or rent a boat from Lynnhaven Boat Ramp & Beach Facility, climb to the top of Cape Henry Light House, one of the oldest surviving lighthouses in the United States, or visit nearby First Landing State Park, the site where English settlers arrived in 1607.

Sandbridge
Want to really get away? Sandbridge is a secluded beach about 15-miles south of the Resort Area with white sand dunes and calm waves where you can really unwind. Nature lovers can explore the marshes at Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge and False Cape State Park, which is great for kayaking, hiking, and fishing.

Prefer the greener, dryer side of the coast? Hit up golf courses at clubs and resorts or have some family fun at Topgolf, featuring mini-golf, a driving range, arcades, live music and cold brews.

Whether you prefer an action packed vacation on the water or a relaxing refuge along the shore, Best Western is ready to welcome you at one of our Virginia Beach hotels right on the ocean and in the heart of town center.
