We enjoyed learning about the carriages and the experiences of our guide in support of them! Amazing access to these magnificent coaches that we only get to see on tv! June was our guide and she gave wonderful insights and anecdotes. This is a London highlight!

Where else can you see a historic collection of the finest carriages and coaches that have been used by kings and queens for hundreds of years?! We really enjoyed our visit and it was full of historic details and well informed staff. Would have been better to have just a few more than two horses that we could not really see since they are such a pivotal part of the exhibit. The Gold State Coach, at over 260 years old is the star of the collection. The immense size and overall shining gold captures the attention of all. The details are incredible - so take you time to focus on each one and the history it represents.

I had visited the Royal Mews before, but as a child, and didn't really remember much, so I made a repeat visit. It's not huge, and doesn't require a full day like some London attractions might, but it could quite easily be combined with a visit to the neighbouring Buckingham Palace. The carriages are the highlight, especially the magnificent Gold State Coach, which I didn't get a good photo of on my previous trip. I was disappointed about the lack of horses in residence, but I was reliably informed by an extremely friendly and knowledgeable guide that they were away on holiday. Well we all need one don't we, and I guess they've had a busy few months, so I'll let them off!! I opted to buy a guide book, rather than take the audio guide, as I can use it to add information to all the photos I took to replace the older ones I have in my album from my previous visit

We booked in advance & on arrival joined a guided tour of the Royal Mews. Our guide Ruth was very informative & helped make the whole experience a memorable one. We did not feel rushed in anyway & were allowed to take photographs of the Gold Coronation Coach & State Coaches. It was very interesting & I would recommend to others.

Loved our visit to the Mews! Being July many of the horses were on holiday in the pastures of Windsor Castle but we did get to see a few of the Windsor Greys and the newest addition, George, a gift from the RCMP to the Queen last year. Being Canadian this was important to me and actually got to watch them exercising George in the indoor arena. George is related through bloodlines to the Queens favorite horse of all time, Bermese, another gift from the RCMP in 1969. Bermese is the one she rode side saddle in the Trouping of the Color Parades. The mews is spotless and can hold 100 horses, right next door to the palace. The Royal coaches are on display in all their magnificence! Loved this visit.

Really interesting to visit the Royal Mews and see the stunning carriages used by the Royal Family. The Gold State Coach was simply stunning to see and walk around. Audio guide useful and not overload of information. A really enjoyable visit

Took a self guided tour of the Royal Mews. While we were given audio guides to play as we went along, we chose not to use them and just read the descriptions hanging up at each coach. It was very impressive to see each one, especially the Gold State Coach that was used only the month before at King Charles' coronation! It was a nice take in and we learned quite a lot about the royal family and their history.

It was pleasure to walk round the Mews although we only saw 2 of the Greys. Assume the rest were out exercising in Hyde Park. There is a wonderful collection of state coaches and the final Golden carriage is amazing. Seemed to us much bigger than we expected and covered head to toe in leaf gold. Amazing to see and most weigh many tons.

So cool and interesting to learn about the royal carriages and royal horses of Buckingham Palace and the Royal Family! Each carriage was on display with detailed information about the history and purpose of each one. Of course, the main attraction was the Gold State Coach - breathtaking! Also neat to see the Riding School arena!

Crowded but worth a visit. We were there the first week of September and there were only two horses. This is typical when the RF removes to Balmoral during the summer and the horses to Hampton Court for refresher training and relaxation. This is not listed on their website, and there were many, many complaints from other tourists that their trip was ruined because they just wanted to see the horses. Ungrateful. A few minutes on the official Royal Mews website details just what is on display and what you can expect. I was absolutely enthralled by the magnificence and opulence of the coaches. It was a spectacular privilege to be able to see them in person and I think a visit is definitely worth the time.
