      Critics Consensus

Choppy logic and uneven performances are overshadowed by not-so-special effects that makes the suspension of disbelief a nearly impossible task.

Rated: 2/5 Sep 2, 2006 Full Review Tasha Robinson AV Club At the risk of making an overly broad and limiting generalization, it's generally wise to make sure an action movie's plot has actually kicked into gear by the time the first hour has elapsed. Iran J This movie is DEFINITELY 5 STARS, it's from 2005 and with a very low budget. I saw the movie first and then rode the short story of the author, definitely the movie is way much better than the story (the story only has 12 pages). The development of the story is very good, of course there are some gaps that don't make sense because time travel is very complicated, it leaves you thinking many things. I was fascinated about the time waves, which I insist, create gaps that don't make much sense but, what difference does it make? It's SCIENCE FICTION. I think they have rated the film poorly but honestly IT IS VERY WORTH IT. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/28/23 Full Review Cris T Interesting story. But very Low cost production. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/01/23 Full Review Josef M If you want to watch a movie based on an actual decent short story of the same name, choose another source material to watch a movie based off of it. The movie barely follows the book's plot and what it does follow, it only fills roughly the first 20-30 minutes. The rest of the film is just a Jurassic park knockoff with some weird time travel shenanigans happening in between and a main character (who's role in the story is drastically changed compared to the original source) who is just another "overly smart tough guy" who barely has personality otherwise. A fever dream of a film and something fun to watch if high off ketamine or completely drunk. All in all, the only thing that is good in the movie are some of the acting, and the first 20 minutes. Otherwise, watch Project Almanac instead.
