Ran hits Max Maniacs’ leader

Ran and his younger brother were infamous gang members in Roppongi who grew up under the influence of violence. At the age of 13, the Leader and Vice Leader of Max Maniacs struck a one-on-one fight with the Haitani Brothers who they quickly lost against. Ran was responsible for a skull fracture on the Vice Leader’s head after raining blows on his face, and later his death, which sent Ran to a juvenile detention center where he met the members of the S-62 Generation.[1]

Ran hits Mitsuya

In Shinjuku, Ran appears behind Takashi Mitsuya and hits his head with a brick. Kanji Mochizuki protests how he interrupted his fight against Mitsuya while Rindo remarks how he would frequently steal the spotlight in battles. Ran is indifferent to these remarks and reasons that negating such rules is the optimal way to defeat the Tokyo Manji Gang, when they are still susceptible to surprise attacks.[4]

Ran is present in the Tenjiku battle against Toman and fights alongside Rindo. He has the upperhand in the duel against Hakkai Shiba and Souya Kawata (Angry) by using his baton to win, but is later hit by Angry after he used his baton to bloody Hakkai. Hunched on the ground, Ran opts out from the battle and merely watches it resume.

After the fight, Ran sends Izana Kurokawa and Kakucho off and closes their eyes.[5] He is then arrested by the police alongside the S-62 Generation.[6]

Rokuhara Tandai and Brahman are gathered on the road to quarrel over recruitment plans when Rokuhara Tandai’s leaders emerge one by one, one of which is Ran. He soon flees with the gang once the police nears the scene.

Ran hits Sanzu (manga)

Ran hits Haruchiyo

Ran next appears on the day of the Battle of Three Deities, where he is first seen in Rokuhara Tandai’s hideout before heading to the amusement park.[8] When the Three Deities have gathered, the fight begins and Ran challenges Haruchiyo Sanzu to an individual battle, using his baton once more after overhearing Haruchiyo parade his usage of weapons in a fistfight.[9] Ran faces him off for the duration of the whole battle then leaves soon after the Kanto Manji Gang declares its victory. While supporting a limped Kakucho who asks about South Terano’s condition, Ran claims that he does not know and comments that it is merely best for them to leave.[10]

Kanto Manji Arc[]

Following Rokuhara Tandai’s defeat in the Battle of Three Deities, Rokuhara Tandai is subsumed under the Kanto Manji Gang and Ran becomes the Captain of the Special Attack Unit. On the day of Kanto Manji’s fight against the Second Generation Toman, Ran targets Mitsuya for a battle.
