Gujarat Titans will be donning the lavender jersey in their last league game of the ongoing IPL 2024. They were set to wear the jersey for their last game against Kolkata Knight Riders but the game was washed out without a ball being bowled.

The Shubman Gill-led side will now be donning the jersey for their last game of the season which is against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday (May 16) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Gujarat Titans were the lavender jersey to show support for cancer awareness. They had donned the lavender jersey last year as well in order to show solidarity with cancer patients.

"This gesture will serve as a reminder of the importance of early detection and access to quality care for improving outcomes in patients with cancer. This initiative will help educate fans about cancer prevention, emphasizing the importance of lifestyle adjustments and regular screenings for early detection," the franchise had said before the game against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Gujarat Titans in IPL 2024:

After two very highly successful seasons, Gujarat Titans failed to replicate their performance this year. After winning the title in 2022 and finishing runners-up in 2023, Gujarat Titans had to part ways with their former captain Hardik Pandya who sealed a sensational return to Mumbai Indians.

Pandya was replaced by an inexperienced Shubman Gill and the youngster struggled to make a big impact as a captain in his first season. The Gujarat-based outfit struggled for consistency throughout the season and hardly looked in contention to make it to the playoffs.

They started their season with a fine win over defending champions Mumbai Indians before losing against Chennai Super Kings. It was followed by a win over Sunrisers Hyderabad before they suffered losses against Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants.

The 2022 winners returned to winning ways in style by becoming the first team to beat Rajasthan Royals this season. However, they could not sustain the winning momentum and lost the very next game against Delhi Capitals. Gujarat Titans then won the following game against Punjab Kings before suffering three games in a row. They ended their losing streak with a fine 35-run win over reigning champions Chennai Super Kings.
