TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe General Elections Commission (KPU) officially named running pair number two, Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka, as the elected president and vice president in the 2024 general elections. Both of them will serve for the 2024-2029 administration period after being inaugurated on the upcoming October 20. Prabowo Gibran will replace President Joko Widodo or Jokowi and Vice President Ma'ruf Amin.

KPU determined the elected head of state through a plenary meeting on Wednesday, April 24, 2024.  "KPU has determined presidential and vice presidential candidates number two, Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka as the elected president and vice president for the 2024-2029 period in the 2024 General Elections," said KPU Head Hasyim Asy'ari.

According to Hasyim,  Prabowo-Gibran is the legal victor of the presidential election, garnering the most votes. "With as many as 96,214,691 votes or 58.59 percent of the total national valid votes and fulfilling at least 20 percent of the votes in each province spread across 38 provinces," said Hasyim.

The victory declaration of Prabowo and Gibran was carried out after the Constitutional Court (MK) dismissed the 2024 presidential election dispute on Monday, April 22, 2024. The lawsuit was filed by Prabowo-Gibran's rival candidates; Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md.

Anies-Muhaimin garnered 40,971,906 votes or 24.95 percent of all valid votes in the 2024 presidential election. Meanwhile, former presidential and vice presidential candidate number three, Ganjar-Mahfud Md, received 27,040,878 votes, or 16.47 percent in total.

Anies and Muhaimin were present at KPU for Prabowo-Gibran's victory declaration ceremony while Ganjar and Mahfud were absent.
