      Critics Consensus

Much like a preservative-packed toaster pastry, Unfrosted is sweet and colorful, yet it's ultimately an empty experience that may leave the consumer feeling pangs of regret.

Craig Mathieson The Age (Australia) Jerry Seinfeld’s debut as a feature film writer and director is a mess. His breakfast pastry-themed 1960s farce plays like he shot every idea he had and made it into a 93-minute movie, regardless of whether they worked together or were particularly funny. May 16, 2024 Full Review Wenlei Ma The Nightly (AU) Unfrosted is silly and dumb, but it’s meant to be silly and dumb. You don’t expect it to take anything seriously and it really, really doesn’t. Rated: 3/5 May 15, 2024 Full Review Peter Rainer FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) There's a lot of not terribly funny jokes in this film. A lot of hit and miss, sort of like a Saturday Night Live show where three-out-of-five jokes are vaguely funny and the other two aren't. May 13, 2024 Full Review Jake Peffer Battle Royale With Cheese Unfrosted is a huge disappointment. The trailer made it seem like it could be a fun comedy with an amazing cast. Instead, it ends up being an almost boring, completely unfunny movie that wastes one of the best casts to appear in a comedy in some time. May 25, 2024 Full Review Steven Prokopy Third Coast Review Unfrosted takes itself seriously, which makes the story of betrayal, envy, ambition and even death, all the more silly. Rated: 3.5/4 May 24, 2024 Full Review Erik Childress Movie Madness Podcast While the film plays out like the ultimate dad joke movie, even the groaners earn some smiles and when the satire hits it earns your more pronounced laughter. Eileen S You need to have lived this era to appreciate the hilarity of it all. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/26/24 Full Review Carlos B I love this movie and laughed the whole time. Excellent movie! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/26/24 Full Review Jane M This was hilarious. I haven’t laughed so much for ages . I can’t understand why so many people gave it a bad review . Where has everyone’s sense of humour gone? Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/25/24 Full Review Len N Comedy is hard, but if you give this a chance, there’s a prize in the box. Gets better and better. Hilarious. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/25/24 Full Review Joseph G The movie was colorful, and true to the Seinfeld experience. You don't necessarily watch movies like this for the plot but for its laughs and lighthearted nature. I feel like it's a family friendly movie with a twist. Highly recommend. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/25/24 Full Review Dani G Silly, silly, silly.... Much in the style of Seinfeld humor but with much more ridiculous situations Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 05/24/24 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
