r/printSF
**A place to discuss published speculative fiction**—novels, short stories, comics, and more. Not sure if a book counts? Then post it! Science Fiction, Fantasy, Alt. History, Postmodern Lit., and more are all welcome here. **The key is that it be speculative, not that it fit some arbitrary genre guidelines**. Any sort of link or text post is welcome as long as it is about printed / text / static SF material.

For pre-1980 or so TV shows -- but not the usual Lucy or *Gunsmoke* reruns. This subreddit is for the ephemeral TV programs of the pre-VCR era -- the stuff no one ever expected to see again: newscasts, local kiddie shows and horror movie hosts, live TV dramas, game shows, soap operas, teen dance parties... Oh, and kinescopes. Lots and LOTS of kinescopes.

Love this, I adore David Niven.
Have you read his books? He was a funny guy.
I haven’t and that’s a great idea! I actually have a lot of biographies and autobiographies and I didn’t think about him. I know he was very funny. Great timing too. Thanks for the suggestion:)
They're just frothy tales of the Golden Age of Hollywood. For example, he was housemates with Errol Flynn. Oh, the wacky hijinx they got up to!
That sounds good to me!
I love the vintage painting/poster style. I would frame this ad. It’s so neat that even ads got that hand painted treatment. I wish there was a resurgence of the illustrative style in print media.
They are also flattering to the frequently famous subjects, as illustrators catch things about them that make them that more special.
Literally the best person to advertise hats for you.
NICE
I'm just glad to see a public reminder that a "Stetson" isn't another term for a cowboy hat, but just the name of the manufacturer (now just a fashion brand selling Chinese made junk).
To be fair the original cowboy hats were the Stetson Boss of the Plains hats, which has been shaped into a number of styles, the cowboy hat, the mountie hat, the ten gallon hat.
