Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, also known as “Foki”, was born on June 5, 1999, in Malaga, Spain. His journey in tennis began at an early age of 2.5 at La Cala del Moral where he first honed his skills before transitioning to Racket Club Fuengirola at the age of 11, under the mentorship of Jorge Aguirre.
Foki’s remarkable career saw him break into the top 200 and later the top 100 in 2019, becoming the youngest Spaniard to achieve this feat since Rafael Nadal. With his sensational performances, Foki qualified for the Next Gen ATP Finals in 2019 and represented Spain at the ATP Cup in 2022 and the Tokyo Olympics.
A standout moment in Foki’s career came in August 2023 when he reached a career-high ranking of No. 21 in the world. This achievement was a testament to his unwavering dedication and talent on the court. Not only does Foki excel in tennis, but he also champions causes close to his heart, founding the “Adoptas” foundation to facilitate pet adoptions in Spain.

Foki began playing tennis at age 2.5 with his father. He first trained at La Cala del Moral with coach Manolo Rubiales and began training at age 11 with current coach Jorge Aguirre at Racket Club Fuengirola. He left home at age 16 to continue developing as a tennis player. His favourite shot is backhand, surface is grass, tournament is Wimbledon and city on tour is Brisbane. Foki likes football and is a fan of Real Madrid. Ale says about himself, that his best quality is sensibility and worst quality is impatience.
Loving animals, Alejandro decided to build his own foundation “Adoptas” to facilitate the adoption of pets in Spain. Adoptas.org allows people to find the animal of their dreams by contacting shelters throughout Spain.
Foki achieved his career-high No. 21 in August 2023. He broke into Top 200 and Top 100 in 2019. At age 20, he became youngest Spaniard in Top 100 since Nadal, 20, was No. 2 in 2006. He improved year-end ranking in 7 straight seasons (2016-22). In 2019 qualified for Next Gen ATP Finals. Alejandro is a member of the Spanish Davis Cup Team and represented his country at the ATP Cup in 2022 and the Tokyo Olympics.
