Biography

Sir William Parr[1] [2] K.G., son and heir of Thomas Parr, Knt.,[3] and Alice Tunstall, was born about 1434. [4]

William married twice: first to Joan (Jane) Trusbut (Trussebot), widow of Thomas Colt and heiress of her grandfather, Lawrence Trusbut. They had no issue and Joan died in August 1473. [4]

William married second to Elizabeth FitzHugh, daughter of Sir Henry FitzHugh, 5th Lord FitzHugh and Alice Neville.[4] They had three sons and two daughters:

William died shortly before 26 February 1484. His widow remarried to Nicholas Vaux, Knt. Elizabeth died after 1501 and before 29 January 1507/8. [4]

Apparently William Parr 1483-1546) is our Ancestor. My mother’s mother, Mary E Green (Read) 1891-1964 was also connected to Lady Mary Alice Sailisbury (1485-1555), Sir William Salisbury (1465-1499) & Lady Elizabeth Wilde (1442-1497), sir William Salisbury, (1480-1546), William Parr (1513-1571).

I believe that Sir William Parr was 1st Baron Kendal, he and Elizabeth Fitzhugh produced William Parr, 1st Baron Horton, who wed Mary Ellen Salisbury. They produced Majory Parr who wed Sir Richard Perry at Exeter 5 July 1551.

Daughter Margaret does not appear in Royal Ancestry. Instead an Anne (m Thomas Cheyne) and an Alice.
