I had been hearing recommendations from people recently to check them out, mainly Andy Edwards’ YouTube channel constantly praising them. I was skeptical since I had never heard of them before, which is strange because I have been obsessed with progressive rock and fusion for the last decade and have really gone deep into quite a lot of obscure albums.

So I decided to listen to the On Land and in the Sea album. Well lo and behold, it’s fucking amazing and right up my alley. I wouldn’t want to boil down their music down to simple band comparisons but they’re kind of like a strange blend of Gentle Giant and the Sex Pistols with a bit of Zappa and the Beatles. The music is so frenetic and chaotic that it sounds like it could just go off the rails at any moment, but you just trust them and hold on and it ends up transforming into something beautiful and just so right with the music world it creates. It’s true art in my eyes.

I really like the way they play with tempo. Like, they’ll start slow and then gradually speed up which really propels the songs. And then they’ll take a section of a song and change keys and slow it down which just makes it sound so heavy and intense. My favorite song so far is Buds in Spawn. I read the lyrics while listening just now, which took it to another level.

Sorry for the rambling haha
