My experience here at Riverside has been great! I learned so much about learning and also how to grow as a person. The people here are friendly and want everybody to be great from when we enroll until we graduate. I care deeply for my school. I would recommend my child or any child in the Duval County area to take their child to Riverside High School. They will grow as individuals and learn so many things about themselves.
There is absolutely a certain je nai se quoi about Riverside, formerly known as Robert E. Lee. I attended the actual school for two years, freshman and sophomore, and fights were assured almost each morning. For my final two years at the school, because I was dual-enrolled, I missed out on those moments for the sake of taking classes at the local community college. But the fights were something to miss. The lunch was decent, the education was nice, the teachers were often amazing, but the fights were surreal. They moved the world around them in a way that few other things do - a public spectacle, much like the Roman forums. Those boys and those girls shattered the Earth they stood on for principles forgotten by the following Monday. I'll always miss the audacity - thankfully, the school usually stopped them before they got too crazy or out of hand. It wasn't the school's fault. The community, and the world we live in, shaped those kids and that's what happens sometimes. It's human.
The best part of attending Riverside Highschool would the community we have as students. As the generals we are, we’ll always come out and show up for our school! The worst part of our school is the heavy administration to our lack of teachers. Also the immaturity of the student body. I’d like to see a change in the way administration runs and reasons with the students of our school and would like the student body to have more respect for not only the adults there but themselves as well.
