As well as working within a beautiful 286-acre site in one of the most attractive market towns in the country, Marlborough College staff are able to enjoy a range of benefits.

Pension – The College pension scheme is an important part of our reward package and a great way to help our employees plan for their future. Employees who are aged 22 or over and eligible (subject to the Rules and Terms of the plan) will be auto-enrolled in the pension scheme.

Cycle to Work Scheme – The College offers a Cycle to Work scheme which is an employee benefit that saves an employee up to 40% on a bike and accessories.  You pay nothing upfront and the payments are taken tax efficiently from your salary by the College.

Discounts – The College has excellent relationships with local retailers, many of whom offer discounts to members of staff between 5% and 30%. These include national chains, such as Pizza Express, Spec Savers and Landmark Clothing.

Eye Care – The College will reimburse employees up to £25 for an eye test.  Employees may claim assistance towards glasses (up to a maximum of £50) where they are needed for specific Display Screen Equipment.

• Online wellbeing support that includes up-to-date bite sized articles signposting to reliable resources.

• Up to six 1-2-1 lifestyle coaching sessions per year.

• Up to six 1-2-1 personal training sessions, delivered via a video consultation, up to six sessions per year.

Supportive Staff Induction – We want you to settle into your new work environment at the College as quickly as possible. Our probation process is designed to give you the support you need to perform in your role to the best of your ability.

Online Training – All staff have access to over 300 online courses with over 100 courses providing CPD Certification.  The CPD Certification Service provides support, advice and recognised CPD accreditation for your continuing professional development.

Staff Training – There is a comprehensive schedule of accredited training for all staff including Fire Marshal and First Aid at Work training. Opportunities to attend conferences and off-site training events relevant to your role are also available.

Arts calendar – A seasonal calendar of events is published throughout the year. It contains drama, music and art exhibitions. The events may be on site at the Art School, theatrical productions in one of our theatre spaces or exhibitions in The Mount House Gallery.

Events – Staff are welcome to attend a number of showpiece College events, including the annual Festival of Sport and Prize Day.

Lunchtime Concerts – Every Thursday during term time, talented pupils from the Music Department perform 20-minute concerts in the Music Department. Staff are welcome to attend.

Sports facilities – All staff have access to a range of sporting facilities at certain times during term and holiday periods. These include a 25-metre swimming pool, the Athletic Development Centre (gym and studios), squash courts, fives courts, tennis courts, athletics track, astros and grass pitches.

Supervised staff sessions – These take place on a regular basis, and include, fitness classes in the gym three times a week and yoga classes once a week during term time.

Sports clubs – There are a number of sports groups for staff, including weekly social sessions for hockey and football. One of the finest golf courses in Wiltshire, Marlborough Golf Club, is located just one mile from the College.

Food – Lunch is provided free of charge during term time for eligible staff in Norwood Hall.

Refreshments – Tea and coffee is provided in staff rooms and kitchens around the College free of charge.

Christmas Lunch – At the end of the Michaelmas Term all staff are invited to gather in Norwood Hall for a celebratory Christmas lunch.

The Memorial LibraryAll staff members are welcome to access and borrow resources from the library. There are almost 50,000 items available, including books, CDs and DVDs, as well online resources including Press Reader (providing online access to over 7,000 magazine publications), BBC Maestro (a streaming platform offering online courses led by experts such as Marco Pierre White and Neil Gaiman) and academic resources, such as JSTOR and Massolit, for those looking to further their study in any number of academic domains. The library also has subscriptions to a range of print and digital magazines, including the Economist and The Financial Times.

The library itself is situated on the top floor of North Block and houses a large collection of fiction and academic literature to support our staff and pupils’ wider areas of interest, as well as offering a quiet, welcoming space to work.

Pop on up to the library and ask a member of the library team what is available, they will be very happy to help you find resources, or to set you up on any of the online platforms.

Observatory – The on-site Marlborough College Blackett Observatory is home to the largest refracting telescope in Wiltshire. The Observatory is a key facility for the study of Astronomy by pupils at Marlborough College and there are a number of open evenings for staff and their families during the year. 

Summer School –Marlborough College Summer School is one of the largest of its kind, with more than 500 courses suitable for all interests. Staff are eligible for a discount on courses as well as access to employment opportunities during the four-week Summer School.

Parking – The College has a large staff car park with free parking available for any member of staff wishing to drive to work.

Electric Car Charging – The College has two electric charging points.
