The Race of Giants was organized by Bob Harper (a businessman from Hong Kong) and was held in the Portuguese overseas province of Macao. The race was a way for Grand Prix heroes of yesteryear to compete with one another in the same cars. They all drove Zakspeed Ford Escort 1.6 liter cars prepared for racing. The race was won by Jacky Ickx. The race was so exciting and close that all the finishers crossed within seconds of each other. Jackie Stewart was supposed to race, but in a practice run he rolled his car on Fisherman's Bend, a 90° bend by the sea. For the show he gives a run of the track with a camera inside the car on the floor of the passenger side. You can see him make every brake and shift while he talks viewers through the course. The car is so loud that his voice had to be re-recorded in New York during the editing.
