8 All Of Us Are Dead Season 2 Will Have An Original Story

All of Us Are Dead already covered all of its webtoon

All of Us Are Dead is based on a webtoon called Now In Our School. The events of the first season followed the webtoon relatively closely, although with some important differences such as the origins of the virus and what happened to Nam-ra at the end of All of Us Are Dead. It’s important to note that All of Us Are Dead season 1’s finale matched the end of the webtoon, meaning there is no longer anything from the source material to be covered. In other words, All of Us Are Dead season 2 is expected to be an original story.

Even those familiar with the Now In Our School webtoon will not be able to predict what the next season will be like.

It's common for K-dramas based on a webtoon to eventually grow beyond their source material, especially when they return for other seasons. Although it is always interesting to compare a TV adaptation with the novel that inspired it, not knowing where All of Us Are Dead’s story is heading makes season 2 more exciting. Even those familiar with the Now In Our School webtoon will not be able to predict what the next season will be like. Sweet Home, which is another Netflix horror K-drama hit based on a webtoon, went through something similar in season 2.

7 All Of Us Are Dead Season 2 Will Introduce New Characters

The show needs new heroes and villains after season 1’s ending

Although the cast of All of Us Are Dead season 2 remains to be confirmed, it is safe to say new characters will be introduced. A lot of characters died in All of Us Are Dead’s first season, from heroes to villains, making it difficult for the show to continue without introducing new names. The fact that the surviving protagonists are now living in a quarantine zone also supports the idea that new characters will be introduced, as there are plenty of other survivors there did not come from the school.

If All of Us Are Dead does something similar to what Sweet Home did, there will be plenty of new characters in season 2. Considering the show will no longer be following specific storylines from the source material, it will have more freedom to introduce characters that were not in the webtoon. Nam-ra’s hambie friends, for example, could be important players in All of Us Are Dead season 2. They were referenced at the end of season 1 but did not appear, teasing their return in the next season.
