What is a Pesonal Identification Number (PIN)?

A PIN is a four-digit secret number that allows only you to use your Illinois Link Card. If you received your card in the mail, you must go to the Illinois Link Card Website or you can call Customer Service Number on the back of your card to change your PIN at any time.

You should choose four numbers that are easy for you to remember, but hard for someone else to figure out. Never tell your PIN to anyone! If someone knows your PIN, they can use your card to get ALL of your benefits - and those benefits will not be replaced.

How do I select my first PIN?

  • When you are approved to receive SNAP, other food assistance or cash assistance, you will be mailed your first Illinois Link card.

  • Once you have selected a PIN, you may change it at any time.
