The Beatles appeared with Rory Storm & The Hurricanes,Gerry & The Pacemakers, The Remo 4, Earl Preston & The Tempest Tornadoes and Faron Young & The Flamingos. The concert was Sam Leach’s “Operation Big Beat II”. The Beatles had already played The Casbah Club in Liverpool before arriving at the Tower for an 11pm set. There was a surprise appearance from Emile Ford, who performed with the Hurricanes and American singer Davy Jones (no, not him) who performed two songs , backed by The Beatles.
