Graf Herman von Orlamünde II was born about 1184, in Saxe-Altenburg as the son of Siegfried von Weimar Orlamünde III and Estrid Valdemarsdatter. He married Beatrix von Andechs-Meranien about 1231, in Weimar, Thuringia, Germany. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 1 daughter. He died about 27 December 1247, in his hometown, at the age of 64.
