Alum: Don’t let the small town fool you. ONU is a great school. Knowledgeable professors, lots of extra curricular activities, and great athletic programs. The small school vibe is amazing, students are generally very nice and you will know so many people on campus before you know it. There is a great camraderie between the athletic teams and most of the teams are very successful and highly competitive in the Ohio Atheltic Conference. All of the colleges have great accredidations and the value of the degree is worth the price. As for the social aspect, there aren’t a ton of bars but it’s not hard to find a good house party. Sophomore: Otterbein University is very beautiful. When it is warmer, there are students lounging everywhere. I loved how beutiful it is and how walkable it is. The town is close enough to walk and there is a biking/walking path through Alum Creek park close by too. I love the performing arts at the school and the library is a great place to spend time. Sophomore: Although the location is rather small and with little to do, I found this to be beneficial in some cases. I’m not much of a drinker but I know there are parties almost if not every weekend or multiple times a weekend, also the bars are always active among students. The beneficial side of the small and calm area is that it’s a pretty calm place to be if you’re more introverted or don’t like to go out all the time. Because of this it can be fun to stay in and hangout with friends and such. Also, I enjoy the food there especially in comparison to other schools. Freshman: I have enjoyed my first year at the University of Findlay and the groups and clubs that I have been able to participate in. The professors are helpful and want students to succeed. I am enrolled in the Animal Science/Pre-Vet program and have greatly enjoyed going to the barn during my first year of school and getting exposure to the animals. I have also been able to join the 4 Paws for Ability club and work with the service dogs in training, as well as, become a second handler for the dogs. This has allowed me to still enjoy my passion for animals while away at school. My advisor has helped me develop a course schedule and plan that will allow me to graduate within four years and stay on track with my studies. I am a student with Dyslexia and the university has worked with me to continue to receive supports for testing and exams. Junior: Mount Vernon Nazarene University has been a wonderful experience. The class sizes are small about 15-20 students and the professors are dedicated to each student's academic success. My academic advisors have been like mentors helping to pave my path toward my academic and career goals. MVNU is also dedicated to grow your spiritual faith through chapel services, community service opportunities, mission trips, Bible study groups (life groups for upper classmen and belong groups for freshmen), and discussing modern topics through a Christian perspective. Moreover, MVNU helped me feel welcome when I transferred as a sophomore, and the community vibe is strong. They are intentional in wanting you to feel like you belong and are loved. Senior: I have loved my time here at Capital for the most part. I love the small school atmosphere that the campus holds. I have made great connections with my professors and faculty. The admissions staff made the process of applying and being excepted extremely easy. With the good also comes the bad. The campus food needs some heavy improvement. Along with the campus housing. Our apartments are really nice, but everything else I feel like needs some heavy renovation. Alum: My time at Wittenberg was a gift. I was able to connect with many of my classmates, sorority sisters and engage with the community in the city of Springfield, Ohio. A highlight was having the opportunity to travel abroad to Lesotho, Africa during my Sophomore year. I loved the student life, heart for service, and was able to be part of many different groups on campus. Sophomore: Overall, my experience at Allegheny Wesleyan College has been very enjoyable for me.
