Good and Bad. Overall, a good time and so much FUN!
I would recommend not bringing a big group of people because they will hold you back from riding the rides that you want. The worker didn’t help when a young girl was trying to figure out how to use a card because they DONT ACCEPT CASH which is bizarre to me. People who aren’t aware that you can only use cards bring cash in to use but you have to convert it to a card in a certain machine. The machine is not easy to find. Me and my group didn’t realize we had to use cards which was annoying and they were all dehydrated and felt like passing out. They threw up from the heat and not having anything to drink because they couldn’t find the machine. The food and drinks are way overpriced for what they are. At McDonalds, you get a big soda for a little more than a dollar but here, it is a smaller amount for a much larger price. But overall, the rides are fun, thrilling, and I would definitely go again. This time I will be more prepared because I now know that you can only use a card. I also would like to mention that Screamin’ Eagle is a very rough ride and it is jerky. I felt unsafe on it and was so excited for it to be over. I would never go on it again. I loved most of the other rides though and I will be back! Hopefully next time I will have a better experience. Being at the park was a happy setting other than my friends feeling bad the whole time. I personally felt just fine. I’m really not trying to make Six Flags seem bad! It’s just that you have to be prepared or your day will not go so smooth. I just wanted to point out some tips before you go!

    Great Experience and Park Improvements
I am a long-time patron and passholder of this park. This was my first visit of 2023. I saw great things that I have flagged for improvement for years. I was glad to see the park "busy" with guests, almost every attraction open, improvements in cleanliness and clear signs the park is receiving investment in improvements. New bathrooms are being built, which are a huge plus. If you havent gone for awhile its worth trying in 2023. Kevin P, St. Louis

Needs customer service lessons and staffing badly
Low staffing leaving too many rides closed. The kids rides were scorching hot to touch. Lifeguards at water park were rude. Several ride operators were rude and yelled at customers. You couldnt, as a father, go up on the kids pirate ship to help your kid down the slides. The only reason i didnt rate them lower was because the log flume allowed my toddler to rode with us and Mr Freeze is great ride

Gret rides, well the ones that were open
Always look forward to going to any six flags park where ever we are in the USA. This one was no different, but sadly my expectations were not met. A Monday in the school holidays I would of thought that all the rides would be busy and the park fully staffed. Sadly that was not the case, far too many attractions closed and only single cars running on all the rides that were open. Situation not helped by not having an on-line app telling us the wait time for each rides. The rides we got on were really good, but we didnt get too do as many as we wished for in the day due to line speed and rides not being open.
Thank you for the rating. If you’d like to share any details about your experience, please send a note to vipsupport@sixflags.com. We are always looking for ways to improve.

Great times at a great water park
We started our day at the theme park, but it was so hot we scrapped that and paid the extra to access the water park. Great decision. We had a ton of fun in the wave pool, lazy river (may be the best one we'veever done), and on the slides. The park was overall clean and well-kept. The lounge chairs had seen some better days but weren't terrible, and that's the only complaint we can find.
We appreciate the review. Thanks for taking the time. Have a great day!

Average Theme Park..don’t pay to rent tubes!
Hours are 11-6 for the water park and 11-7 for the theme park. You enter at the same place and the take an immediate right (once through the main entrance ) to get to Hurricane Harbour. I purchased a diamond pass online in advance, my son had a platinum pass. The diamond pass gave us a season unlimited refill cup, preferred parking (one lot closer on a not so busy day) and 20% off an unlimited meal pass (1 time only ..not each day). Food in the park is expensive! I hadn’t planned on getting a meal plan, but we went to get a slice of pizza and it was $15+…so promptly used the promo for the meal plan. We could get a meal or a snack every 90 mins and it included an unlimited refill cup. Not sure if it saved us money …we seemed to eat as soon as we knew we could every 90 mins. Without the plan, we might spent about the same or slightly more..without the limitations of meal plan items or time. We shared one plan. This was our first time at the park and a I asked a lot of staff members random questions..it was hard to get answers. The diamond pass incudes 4 skip the lines…not to be confused with the Flash Pass..which there are different levels of and cost extra. Also don’t pay to rent tubes at Hurricane Harbor. We didn’t and had tubes for anything we needed them for! My son doesn’t love rides..so we spent most of our time at the water park. He had a lot of fun! We were there on a Monday and Tuesday..and it was not busy at all. It’s an ok way to spend a day…do some research if you want to save money. Have fun!
We appreciate the rating, even if it means we could have done better. We would love to hear from you to learn more about your experience. Please feel free to reach out to us at vipsupport@sixflags.com.

Being a local, and one that actually travels outside STL to other places, including amusement parks, I can say that our Six Flags has grown tiresome and worn, and lacks any sort creativity.

This park is known for bearing the brunt of the company’s cheapness, which will probably get worse after COVID-19. The ferris wheel, Superman tower, the mechanically plagued Xcalibur, and 2 dated and painful coasters, Ninja and Boomerang, were all unwanted and/or hand me downs from other parks. The Boomerang, which derailed in recent years, was advertised as new, despite being built in 1989 in TX. Ninja , due to low ridership, had upcharge VR glasses slapped on it and was advertised as a new coaster. Imagine how people felt when they got to the park and realized it was the same thing they’ve been riding for 30 years.

The American Thunder is probably the best ride there these days, but it was the last coaster built, and that was 12 years ago. 3 of the other coasters, Mr. Freeze, Batman, and Pandemonium(Tony Hawk) are clones from numerous other Six Flags parks, as is the Justice League and Fireball. I get many locals won’t know or care, but as I said , no creativity at all. Holiday World and Silver Dollar City are more successful because they understand that. The park has made sure to keep some aged relics, like the Log Flume and Mine Train, both going on 50 years.

Oh, and I haven’t ridden the Boss in maybe 15 years...? I have ridden wood coasters from Colorado to Pennsylvania, and none are as painful to me. But instead of remaking it into a modern steel coaster that most parks have done with their rough, labor intensive wood coasters, they simply lopped off the final helix and called it good. I give up.

I have nothing personal against this park. It was the first one I knew as a child. But I feel the company takes advantage of the STL area and that it’s all simply “good enough” and that there is no expectation of quality in the park’s entertainment offerings. The half hearted effort is spent standing still.

If you are visiting STL from out of town and have limited time, I can’t suggest you spend time or money here unfortunately. They don’t deserve it. Go up in the arch, go to the zoo(free) come over to see Monk’s Mound in IL.

If you are local then I’m probably preaching to the choir.

I would like for management to contact me. Three attempts and talk to two human beings and got nowhere. The first one said she had to contact her manager and never got back with me. So I left another message and received a phone call from an employee that should not have the position she has because she doesn't know what she's doing and her attitude was very mean and hateful. I hope those conversations are recorded so you can see what I experienced with that employee. I can promise you one thing she's probably not going to contact me about the refund on the three orange cups" will she"
We purchased 10 or 12 season passes for family ...2 of those individuals could not use those passes due to their weight. We made three attempts for them to ride rides but unfortunately did you awake it was not possible. Trying to get a refund for their season passes since they are not able to ride the rides became very frustrating. And to be talked to by one of their employees I literally wanted to climb through that phone.
Instead I hung up.

Do not buy their orange cup or any drink because when you go back for refill they are out of it. No carbon, the water smell like chlorine and even tasted like chlorine $90 for three cups refillable we couldn't even get one drink. Don't waste your money.
We learned a very valuable lesson Six Flags you do not care. You want our money and then you wash your hands of your customers.
Enjoy
we will not be back
Season pass did you know that you have free parking. We were charged another $90 worth of charges when we should have received free parking no one told us this.

Two season passes we couldn't use because of their weight
three orange cups and could not get refills
$90 worth of charges for parking when it should have been free. A little upset do the math almost $400 of charges that we could not use and trying to get a refund is more frustrating than it's worth

My family and I went to Six Flags this week and had an excellent time. Sure, some of the rides were not operating but we suspect that's because of staff shortages. We went on a very pleasant day with mild temperatures and we were shocked not many people were in the park. For most of the day we did not have to stand in any lines which was awesome. The park could use a spruce up and we were very disappointed that the Moon Cars had been retired!!!

Six Flags recommends masks when indoors but hardly anyone other than my family were wearing them.

Our only real complaint is the price of food. We ordered 4 slices of pizza (each came with 2 garlic knots) and 4 drinks and we paid $88! We knew this would be the case so we weren't too shocked but the meal plan would have likely been more economical.

All and all an excellent day at Six Flags- highly recommend.

My husband and I went with our two daughters and son-in-laws along with five children ages 2-9 years old. We all had a great time. We purchased one day tickets with no meal plans for a weekday visit. We got there right when they opened and started rides. We ate lunch in the park, which didn't take to long to order and get our food, and then had ice cream on the way out. The parks hours are shorter than I remember but many places are doing that now days. In the children's area of the park there were two rides that were doing "shared operator" meaning that they didn't each have their own operator (meaning not enough workers) but they were quick to go between so the kids didn't really wait to long. That was the only place we encounter the shared operator. A few rides were closed for updating or whatever, except the Moon Cars are gone for good which was disappointing to the younger kids who wanted to drive. However, there was still plenty for them all to do. The older kids loved all the roller coasters and rode them many times. Everyone enjoyed the Log Flume, Thunder River, Ferris wheel and train we all did them several times. The crowd wasn't bad meaning lines weren't bad and we liked that we didn't have to wear masks. There was sanitizer out all over the park however some jugs were empty but we found enough stations so we felt safe. The park was very clean on our visit and just a fun day for all of us.

This park is a severe disappoinment and a shell of it's former self. We went for a quick Friday night visit. As season pass holders that live locally we can come and go when we see it's not busy. We hadn't been to six flags for 10 years prior to 2020 due to working there for 7 seasons and seeing the park not improve. We returned after recieving passes last fall for a gift after now having two young kids. When we went at Christmas time we were excited to see improvements, but there were none. Past the upper tracks was closed which is where most of the new rides are. At Christmas they were very slow so we went and let our older child ride some rides then leave. We went back for our first visit this season on 4/16/2031. It was again not busy and we were excited for our boys to ride all the rides. We went by the moon cars first and noticed they were closed after nearly 50 years we then rode shazam loved it. We then headed to the north section of the park where the newer rides are that we couldn't see last winter. The new rides seem great. The tall swings were closed but the other two rides were open and people loved them. We noticed the old papa john's was perfectly closed. Screaming eagle was shut down. On down past another closed restraunt and we get to bugs bunny national park. They had the ship and small train open. That was it. A dozen rides our boys can ride and 2 were open. Only rockets, the old villains were open outside of the front mall eateries. Tucks is the only good place north of the palace and arbors to eat. No food carts. Nothing. Big let down for two former food service employees. We probably won't be back until we can enjoy the wave pool this summer. We hope it's open. I used to say this is a cheap carnival that doesn't move and it proved itself true even more so in 2021 than when I stopped working there in 2010. Sad to see a place I loved so much be so lackluster. I would recommend driving to silver dollar city or kansas city if looking for a fun weekend at a theme park. Skip this place until they get it together.

We have been many times before but this is our first Covid Era visit. You have to wear a mask but there are designated areas to sit without them. They sell branded ones at front entrance. Getting in requires reservation but it was the fastest we have ever experienced. For them to take your temperature you walk through and air conditioned tent and it shows on TV screen( it was non invasive and very fast.) Because lines are spaced apart you feel like you move fast. They clean all the rides between riders so it takes a little while but since the occupancy is lower it is still faster than usual. Not all guests kept the masks on but all the workers did. Some of the Covid upgrades where wonderful. It was so clean and much faster parking and getting in. There are mobile hand washing stations and ant-bac EVERYWHERE! The kid’s playground was closed.

Bathroom were dirty and out of toilet paper.
Food area untrained and understaffed.
Long wait time for food or drink standing in line for 1 hour and 15 minutes for a drink.
Went on Sunday so there would be less people but service was so poor spend more time in lines.
No lighting in the locker rental area had to use cell phone light to find locker. Someone could have fallen in the dark huge liability.
Oh and they don’t take cash only one cash exchange machine at the front gate. Should have one in every gift shop. If you require a card at least make it easy on you customers unless you don’t want them to come back.
Management has no clue on how to run a smooth operation. Small changes could have made a big difference in everyone’s visit.

Well Six Flags St. Louis got a new CEO, and he has decided that the way to improve things is to make the park as low a value and as miserable an experience as possible.

Our Diamond VIP memberships are a gigantic waste of money. No matter, they killed the membership plan so now it's just about gutting the existing grandfathered membership services until everyone who has them gives up. Or they just cancel them too.

Opening Weekend at Hurricane Harbor and HALF the water park is closed. The only thing open is the new kiddie pool area, a WAVELESS wave pool and one slide attraction. I can find better at local parks. Some nearly $300 for a VIP cabana, where they even cut having drinks (like bottled water)... just a discount now. Even though, on the web site, the standard Cabana does have that. It's random insanity.

Things are often broken or in the process of breaking down. There isn't enough staff. Guest service booths are shuttered (who cares about guests)?

Some bean counter (i.e. the new CEO) has decided that, on paper at least, this makes a lot of financial sense. Pissing off your highest dollar guests, to him, makes sense. Making it so we never want to come back, to him, makes sense.

This will continue until his vision, such as it is, either works or is a colossal disaster and they fire this half-baked turn-around artist for someone who's at least played a few rounds of Roller Coaster Tycoon. And done well at it.

We just returned from a day at Six Flags St. Louis. It was a great day! I practically grew up at this park back in the 80s and early 90s. Many of the rides that were there then are still there today. Many changes have been made as well, but all the classic rides have not been replaced with something else. Other amusement parks tear down the classic rides and replace them with new ones that may actually not be such a good thing in the end.

After a move out of state in the early 90s, I hadn't been back since 2002 on a summertime visit to STL. And now we've moved back to the St. Louis area so it was a first time visit for my wife and 3 boys.

As I peruse the below reviews, I don't know why there are really negative reviews. We found the park to be very clean, the ride operators were having fun doing their job, all while maintaining the level of safety and common sense at the rides, and we saw plenty of security personnel walking around as well.

Yes, food prices are quite pricey. But, given the supply chain and demand issues, what ISN'T pricey these days? Oh yeah, the 1-day admission fee if you buy online!

We can tell they are short-staffed and doing the absolute best they can to make sure people get as many rides as they possibly can. The biggest ride that was closed on the day we went was Thunder River. While disappointing, I would much rather see that one closed due to short staffing than one of the major rollercoasters. Thankfully, all of the major rides were going on this day and the crowds were light so standing in lines was very minimal and there were times we walked right up to the loading gate and got on the coaster right away.

In my family, we now have a new generation of Screamin' Eagle riders! I told my 13 year old, who rode the Eagle for the first time today, that my parents (his grandparents) also rode Screamin' Eagle when they were much younger. So glad they've held on to a classic coaster for this long and no plans to replace it anytime soon. It is still the classic coaster and while bumpy (what else can you expect from a wooden 46 year old coaster) it doesn't bump around all that bad and it's still the same as it's always been!

Overall, we had a very good time! It was great being back at a park I made so many memories at as a kid and overall the place is in very good shape with very minimal signs of age and those are all minor. You wouldn't think that with some of the below reviews. Ignore them. The park is in very good shape, clean, safe, and still a great place to come and enjoy the day with your family.
