Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort Aruba earns rave reviews for its spotless environment and eco-friendly practices, with the immaculate Eagle Beach location standing out as a highlight for visitors. Guests are vocal about the attentive and professional service that contributes to the resort's serene adults-only atmosphere. The well-spaced sun loungers and straightforward reservation system receive ample praise, while the accommodations are noted for their spaciousness and views, albeit a few reviewers suggest some rooms could benefit from updates. While many guests believe the resort provides good value, a handful opine that the price point may not fully align with the services.

We had the perfect vacation celebrating our 40th anniversary at Bucuti and Tara! We’ve never been to the Caribbean before, and I’m now afraid that Bucuti has set an exceptionally high bar that is going to be hard to beat (obvious solution: return to Bucuti!)

The service is stellar: the staff really goes above and beyond! A very thoughtful bottle of champagne, flutes (ours to take home as a keepsake), cheese, crackers, and sweet treats (macarons and sugar cookies!) were set out for us in our room as an anniversary gift.

We were in a Garden View room which was perfect! Each morning we made a Nespresso (in room) and sat on the balcony before we went down to breakfast and then the beach. It was a perfect way to start the day! We really appreciated having the in room mini fridge and microwave. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was stocked with Aruba Aloe products.

The resort itself is beautiful. It's situated on the loveliest strip of the award winning Eagle Beach. What a magical spot! Bucuti has an excellent (and simple!) umbrella reservation system: at 5pm each day you log in on the IPad they provide to choose your umbrella for the next day. If you’d rather use your own device, they have a hotel app that you can download. There was no need to get up early or worry about not getting a great beach spot each day. Our pre-reserved umbrella would be set up with towels, very comfortable lounge chairs, terry cloth covers, and a “red flag” each day. We’d raise the flag and within minutes we’d be placing a drink and/or food order!

The breakfast each morning was phenomenal! The food is delicious and plentiful. We’d place an order for an entree (avocado toast, eggs Benedict, waffles, etc) and a drink (cappuccino, pot of coffee) THEN go inside to choose pastries, fruits, salmon, oatmeal, custom made omelets, yogurts, and on and on. After eating such a huge breakfast, we usually skipped lunch (you can eat breakfast anytime from 7am-11am). We ate dinner at Elements twice and highly recommend it! We had a perfect sunset view.

I’ve read people on forums concerned that Bucuti is out of their price range. A couple things to note: their prices shown already INCLUDE all the taxes and fees whereas when I checked prices at other resorts, I had to get to the final page to see the cost with the taxes and fees (and they were significant). Also, Bucuti includes an amazing complimentary breakfast. When I actually compared apples with apples, Bucuti and Tara was not only a phenomenal place to stay but a great deal (we were there off season in April and in a Garden View Room). To the side of each guest room door, they hand tiny signs that say “Happy Anniversary”, “Happy Birthday”, etc. We were amazed to walk by sign after sign that said “Welcome Back”. That said it all!

Esteemed Genevieve, Wow, you enjoyed celebrating your 40th anniversary at Bucuti and Tara! It is good to read that the service and attention to detail you received during your stay were exceptional. In addition, it's great to hear that our staff went above and beyond to make your celebration even more special with thoughtful gifts and personalized touches. The Garden View room is perfect for relaxing and enjoying your morning coffee on the balcony. The Aruba Aloe products in the bathroom have added to the experience - a genuine Aruba Product we are proud of The resort's location on Eagle Beach is truly stunning, a world-famous Beach now. The umbrella reservation system is a winner - it resolved 99% of our beach chair reservation headaches. It allows you to reserve a spot on the beach without hassle or early wake-up calls. The beach amenities, including comfortable lounge chairs and terry cloth covers, are the perfect way to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The breakfast at Bucuti and Tara sounds like the absolute highlight of your stay. The variety of options, from pastries to custom-made omelettes, must have been your dream. Breakfast is included in the price - it is a great value add. It's great to hear that you also enjoyed dinner at Elements and that the sunset view was perfect. Stayed for 7 nights over New Years. People of Aruba love fireworks, so we heard a lot of them throughout our stay and it was fun to watch all the displays from the Bucuti beach on NYE.

My fiancé and I got engaged on this trip during the Elements romantic dinner, which we highly recommend and not just because of our extra special experience. You do have to walk through sand to get to your cabana for the dinner, so a heads up on that for planning footwear. They surprised us the day after with a Happy Engagement bottle of wine with personalized congratulation notes, cheese, nuts, and chocolate. We appreciated that touch! Otherwise, we enjoyed another dinner at Elements as well to try the regular menu and it was fantastic.

The beach is unbelievable - no seaweed, clear water, little rocks or shells, soft white sand, and few people in general around. Some people walking by from other hotels, but the Bucuti location still feels very private, quiet, and relaxing.

All of the staff are super friendly and genuinely want you to be happy and comfortable at all times. The concierge is there 24 hours a day in person. Since Bucuti is further from some of the larger and older hotels like Holiday Inn or Ritz Carlton, the taxis are not always lined up and available immediately when needed - but give yourself a few extra minutes ahead and they will always be able to get one for you.

We plan to return at some point and will recommend to friends and family!

Hello Nitsrag, Congratulations to our future honeymooners! We hope and look forward to serving you again. Peace and tranquility are the signatures at Bucuti & Tara, and romance is the headliner, and we are happy to read that you have enjoyed all of it. As to the taxi service - we offer 25/7 taxi service and most of the day evening taxis are waiting in front. During the Christmas/New Year holidays, there may have been a time that there was none available because the Island was overflowing with overnight visitors and three to five mega-ships in the harbor, all vying for transportation and tours. We apologize! Masha Danki Ewald Biemans

The best place to rest, restore and reflect. Highly recommend the Bucuti & Tara Resort for completely getting off the grid. I don't know why we waited so long. It was beyond our expectations. This trip was our very first as a couple without our daughter in over 20 years. It was also our first resort for adults. What a difference it makes when you are trying to unwind and relax to be socially distanced from others and not be subject to children (no offense). The beach environment was peaceful, serene, and the very best we have every experienced.
The rooms are well appointed and they do what they say regarding safety and cleanliness which meant we could just relax a bit after wearing a mask for 8 months.
The staff was delighted to have the guests and seemed to thrive with engaging with each. It was easy to simply get breakfast on the property everyday so you don't have to think about it. The happy hours (yes there are three different ones each day) are generous and well timed. The restaurant has tons of food options and going off the property is easy and affordable for transport. The sunsets are spectacular, the walks on the beach are second to none due to the softness of the sand and the location of Bucuti in Aruba. Again, this trip was a risk with everything going on in the world, however Bucuti delivered above and beyond what they commit to which means you are safe, cared for and have the space to just unwind and relax. Best vacation ever!

The service we received at Bucuti & Tara was top notch! Everyone at the resort was friendly and helpful. We stayed in a Tara Suite room which was absolutely beautiful, clean and the view was awesome! During covid, they also had a special cleaning machine to ensure that rooms were sterilized which made our stay feel even safer! The location of the hotel is on Eagle Beach and it's beautiful, quiet and relaxing. We really enjoyed having breakfast every day at Elements. They give a big breakfast (which is included) with a lot of delicious choices with a beautiful view of the beach! I also highly recommend Elements romantic sunset dinner for 2 on the beach - we celebrated my fiancé's 50th birthday and our server, Yolanda, was awesome! So many of the workers.. Juan, Rambo, Joseph, Yolanda and many others were phenomenal! I highly recommend Bucuti & Tara for your stay in Aruba!

My wife and I just spent 5 nights at Bucuti. The weather was great, the beach is beautiful, the staff is very friendly. We chose Bucuti because we wanted to enjoy a few days together without our kids (who are young) and we thought this would be a good getaway. We weren't wrong, but there are a few things that could make it even better, at least for us,

Some things can't be changed — like the fact that the rooms aren't really on the ocean. Instead, there are large lawn and beach areas, so the rooms are set quite a bit back. If you're used to resorts with balconies on the water, this isn't that. But that isn't something they can easily fix — I'm just noting it so that others considering this resort are aware. There's little reason to get an ocean view room here since you're really just looking at beach umbrellas for a hundred yards.

What they can fix is the lack of a hot tub. The pool appears to have a hot tub, but it's just a small cold pool feeding the larger pool. Apparently it was a hot tub once, but some guests didn't like having the larger pool get warm, so mgmt killed the heat. I would say instead that if someone wants to swim in cold water, they can go in the ocean. But making the hot tub a hot tub again gives everyone an option. You could also isolate the hot tub so that it doesn't feed the pool. But it's a nice treat after a long day exploring Aruba to have a romantic hot tub to enjoy with a significant other, even if it has to be shared with another couple or three.

That's especially true given that there are no tubs in the rooms. I think the PH suite has a tub, but most of the other rooms don't. I would suggest that management convert some of the shower stalls to shower tubs. It would be an easy conversion, and you'll see how many guests prefer tubs to showers. We would have gladly paid more for a tub, but there were no available rooms with tubs.

The only other suggestion would be to offer a 4-night minimum instead of 5, but that's a business decision and maybe not justified for the owner.

For the rest of it, we really enjoyed the people, the food was good, and exploring Aruba was fun. We did the ABC UTC half-day tour (Conchi), we kayaked, snorkeled, and SCUBA dove, and we had dinners out every night at interesting places. We're not gamblers, so the lack of a casino was perfect for us. The gym was larger than expected, which was nice, and the room decor and beach umbrella aesthetics were great. We initially found the iPad umbrella reservation system a little annoying, but it's probably better than the alternative, which is people squatting or tipping obnoxiously.

There are pricey resorts that look cheap or make you wonder where the money went — this one looks good, and we would recommend it to others looking for a romantic Aruban adventure.

Greetings to you, Hither... Here is our conundrum - some of our guests would like for us to cool the pool water even more, as they do in some Saudi Arabian resorts. Hot-tubs and Saunas are for cold climates, we were told, and our Jacuzzi was heating the colder water in the pool. Bathtubs, we were told, are passe' in the resort industry as a trend, and we removed our tubs and installed the rain-showers that seem to be a trend nowadays. We are presently planning a full Spa with a HotTub/Jacuzzi and so we hope to entice you to return sometime in the future. We thank you for your comments and hope to serve you again sometime in the future. Masha Danki y Te Aworo, Ewald Biemans

Review of Bucuti led us to book this resort and it did not disappoint. White sand, turquoise water and perfect weather. Bucuti is well maintained, two restaurants and beach bar. We had a "Superior Room" not a great view of the ocean, but other rooms do offer ocean views. Rooms are updated, balcony, refrigerator and safe. Rooms come with an iPad to access hotel info and most important - reserving umbrellas and chairs. At 5:00pm every day you need the iPad to reserve your space for the next day - front rows are taken quickly! The fitness room is well equipped but the spa is small and services are at a premium. My husband took advantage of the early bird beach massage special ($85) only available until noon.
Breakfast is included, great wait staff in the morning (Rambo, Marwin and Juan) to greet you and start the day with a smile and a song. You can order lunch at the beach or go to the bar/restaurant. There are also plenty of other resorts just a short beach walk away to grab a bite. The beach wait staff is friendly and ready when you raise the red flag for service. We had lunch under the umbrella most days and enjoyed happy hour at the beach bar 4-6pm.
A few nice unexpected touches are the beach waiters coming around with complimentary cold towels and refreshing fruit skewers to keep you cool throughout the day. We really can't comment enough about the friendly staff throughout the hotel. The staff can make or break a resort and Bucuti delivered premium service.

Thank you TLKaasa, We read that you chose us because of the ratings here on Tripadvisor - we thank you and we thank over seven thousand reviewers for elevating us to the pole position for 19 years and awarding us a plethora of awards in Service and Romance and Quality. We are glad to have delivered once again. Thank you also about your comment on our new umbrella Res system - we appreciate the endorsement. It has helped to resolve a litany of daily complaints although it is still sometimes a bit resisted by some of our repeat clients who would prefer to reserve a prime spot very early in the morning. We will forward your comment to our staff as well and we all hope to be serving you again soon. Masha Danki, Ewald Biemans

Bucuti & Tara is a lovely, serene, intimate resort on a gorgeous beach. It is a wonderful setting for total relaxation, especially since there is no casino, no large crowds. It's also adults only, so there are no children or large families. Instead of the incessant pounding music at larger resorts, at Bucuti you're surrounded by the sound of the waves and tropical birds. The rooms are spacious with plenty of drawer and closet space, so we completely unpacked and didn't have to live out of our suitcases. The beach and pool have plenty of umbrellas and comfortable chaise lounges with cushions, that can be reserved a day in advance. The umbrellas are spaced about 15' apart so even on the beach there's a sense of privacy. The salt water pool is very generous and never crowded. Elements restaurant is one of the best we've been to in the Caribbean. The food was excellent, the menu was varied and every meal is prepared with fresh ingredients and delicious. The wine list has a very good selection of wines by the glass at fair prices. The highlight of our stay was the private dinner on the beach at sunset in the private cabana, a 6 course delicious meal, which was made all the more special by our wonderful server, Mirna. She was friendly, attentive, and very willing to take many photos of our very special dinner. She's also a great photographer! In 6 days at Bucuti, we enjoyed every meal at Elements and felt pampered by all the friendly staff: Joseph, Vincent, Nakarinda, Manuel, Juan, Rambo, and the woman at breakfast who makes beautiful omelets. We will definitely return to Bucuti & Tara!

We loved everything about our stay at Bucuti and Tara. The beach is spectacular, there is a rational, easy system to reserve umbrellas and beach chairs, the service is impeccable, Covid precautions are taken seriously. It was easy to rent snorkeling gear (to use at a few good spots around the island), and we also had a great birding trip with Michael. The Tara suites are spacious and beautiful, as is the sea view. The Elements restaurant has a stunning location and very good breakfasts which are included. Dinner there was also very good, though we enjoyed some restaurants around the island more . A rental car office is next door. We enjoyed the snacks and smoothies at the Beach bar. We loved that there is no music playing at the restaurant or bar, or in any public area that we noticed - just the sounds of the wind, sea, birds, etc. Also, there are no water sports, which to us was a plus- we would see jet skis buzzing off the beach from other hotels, but we appreciated the more peaceful beach ambience without motorized sea craft. In the room we were able to use Airplay to send music or video from our devices to the smart TV without any difficulty. The hotel is environmentally enlightened, solar panels cover the roof, and it is carbon neutral. It is adults only which adds to the quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Also, while it is flanked by other hotels, they are all low-rise, which means walking along the beach either way is not overcrowded (unlike the hight rise hotel district with thousands of rooms on one beach). We would love to return.

Bucuti is already the best of the best when it comes to customer service. Visiting as a couple you feel as if you are the only people on the beach thanks to the intimate nature of the resort. You also feel as if you have ten people dedicated to your happiness from sunrise to sunset and through the night. Restaurants, beach service, concierge, bell services, housekeeping, chefs, waitstaff, the manager and the OWNER will all address your concerns or needs.

During this trip we were very impressed with the safety of the resort to prevent spread of coronavirus. Rooms are cleaned daily with UV light and a no-contact policy to ensure distancing. You are allowed to relax without masks as long as you observe distancing. Waitstaff will place a tray of your food items on a rack to keep a safe distance and are still just as attentive as ever.

It is my opinion that Bucuti is the gold standard of resort excellence. They have also set a high standard of eco-friendly hospitality. And now they are leading the way with safety in the wake of coronavirus.

My husband and I stayed at the Bucuti in a Tara Suite Jan 2-12. This was our first time to Aruba (we pick a new place to go each year) and I’m very happy that we chose B&T to stay. The white sand beach is huge and super clean (no plastic). If you walk up the beach you can see how much better the beach is in front of B&T compared to the neighboring resorts. The chairs are nicely spaced with plenty of room, the umbrellas provide nice shade, and it’s far enough back that you don’t have random people walking directly in front of you. The water helped cool us off as it was calm enough for us to go swimming in. We even saw fish a few times. I loved the iPad system to save our beach chairs for the following day. It was quick and easy and you can also make the chair reservation from your cell phone so there was no reason to have to go back to your room at 5:00. The only thing I would suggest is to have the guests put their cell phones on silent while at the beach. There were lots of loud ringing cell phones and speaker phone conversations happening (I know that’s not something that can be easily controlled).
We enjoyed the Sand Bar - great staff, delicious smoothies and drinks (healthy and happy hour) and the food was really good.
We had a Tara Suite on the 2nd floor. It was nice. Basic, but very nice. We had a fabulous view of the ocean with a great balcony. I loved waking up to that view each morning. Bed was comfortable and everything was very clean.
We ate breakfast at Elements (included) every morning. Made to order omelettes are the best. Lunch was usually at the Sand Bar with a drink. We always tried something new for dinner. Our concierge made a couple of reservations for us at a few local restaurants. The great thing is there are also several restaurants within walking distance that you don’t need reservations for so we didn’t feel like we had to be on a set schedule for our entire vacation.
We have never been a “repeater” at any resort, but we would definitely go back and I’m definitely recommending it to friends. Everything about the Bucuti & Tara was just so easy and it had all of the elements that my husband and I look for in a resort. Beautiful relaxing beach, delicious food and drinks, fabulous people, and no kids.

There is also a lovely little shopping area 3 minutes from resort for casual dining. Also two resorts down -walking distance are restaurants like a good steak house. Wilhelmina restaurant is a must for fine dining. Aqua Grill has very good food too.
