How beautiful! What time was this?

I think it was visible for roughly an hour; I first saw this at around 23:45 and it all went away after 00:45

Was it visible like that with the naked eye? Which direction was it in?

Yes it was, but obviously not that intense. I was reversing my car into the driveway and noticed some kind of red beams in the sky. Went out after parking it and took a picture of the sky for no reason, and I was blown away!

The first one I saw was in the east; then I drove to Tewinbury to avoid light pollution and from there I could see these in all directions.

Very cool. I wonder if they will show again tonight
