Bradley is pleased to announce that Frederic L. Smith Jr., a partner in the firm’s Birmingham office, has been named by Who’s Who Legal as among the world’s leading mergers & acquisitions (M&A) practitioners. He is listed in the M&A chapter of the Who’s Who Legal: M&A and Governance 2018.

“The firm congratulates Frederic on achieving a high level of success in his practice that has earned him recognition from Who’s Who Legal as a top mergers and acquisitions attorney,” said Bradley Chairman of the Board and Managing Partner Beau Grenier.

A member of Bradley’s Corporate and Securities Practice Group, Mr. Smith has 20 years of experience representing businesses in M&A transactions, contract negotiations, joint venture transactions and financing transactions. In addition to his transactional practice, he serves as outside general counsel to several privately held and family-owned businesses. His broad experience covers a range of industries, with a particular focus representing companies in the construction, manufacturing, construction aggregates and real estate industries.

Mr. Smith is an active member of the American Bar Association’s M&A Committee, for which he chairs a working group that tracks judicial developments in M&A transactions and is a regular contributor to the Annual Survey of M&A Cases published in The Business Lawyer. He received his J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts from Hampden-Sydney College.

Published by London-based Law Business Research Limited, the Who’s Who Legal directory lists more than 24,000 private practice lawyers from more than 150 national jurisdictions, covering 34 areas of corporate and commercial law. Only lawyers who receive the highest number of recommendations from peers and clients as determined through independent research are listed in the publications. The Who’s Who Legal guides are intended to serve as reference sources for companies seeking to corroborate the reputations of lawyers recommended by another party. The publications are distributed to counsel and officers at more than 8,000 of the world's leading corporations and to executive partners at pre-eminent law firms.
