Active MTG Arena Codes

Let’s get right into it. The following is a complete list of MTG Arena codes that you can redeem right now. We’ll get into the specifics of redemption below, but for now just make sure you enter each code exactly as it’s written here. Codes are often case-sensitive.

Free Pack Codes

One of the most common types of code on MTG Arena is the free pack code. These codes give you free packs of a specific set, typically in groups of three. For more recent sets, like Outlaws of Thunder Junction, these codes have been replaced by packs you can claim in your in-game inbox. There are still a lot of free packs to claim, however.

  • PlayBRO – Grants three The Brothers’ War packs.
  • PlayDMUA – Grants three Alchemy: Dominaria United packs.
  • Play DMU – Grants three Dominaria United packs.
  • Play HBG – Grants three Alchemy Horizons: Baldur’s Gate packs.
  • Play AlchemyNewCapenna – Grants three Alchemy: New Capenna packs.
  • PlaySNC – Grants three Streets of New Capenna packs.
  • PlayNeoAlchemy – Grants three Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty Alchemy packs.
  • PlayNEO – Grants three Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty packs.
  • PlayVOW – Grants three Innistrad: Crimson Vow packs.
  • PlayMID – Grants three Innistrad: Midnight Hunt packs.
  • PlayDND – Grants three Dungeons & Dragons: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms packs.
  • PlayKaldheim – Grants three Kaldheim packs.
  • PlayZendikar – Grants three Zendikar Rising packs.
  • PlayM21 – Grants three M21 packs.

Murders At Karlov Manor Codes

These codes were released as part of an ARG mystery tied into the Murders at Karlov Manor set. Originally, players were meant to solve clues and complete puzzles to gain access to these. Now that the event is over, though, you can enjoy the rewards without dusting off your magnifying glass.

  • 2005 – Grants a copy of Red Herring.
  • Alquist – Grants 500 XP and a Cosmetic Style for Auspicious Arrival.
  • Golgari/Greenblack/Izoni (All three work) – Grants 500 XP and a Cosmetic Style for Coerced to Kill.
  • Impeccable – Grants 500 XP and a Cosmetic Style for The Chase is On.
  • Murdered – Grants 500 XP and a Cosmetic Style for Deadly Complication.
  • Oba – Grants 1,000 XP, a Cosmetic Style for Deduce, and a Totally Normal Event token.
  • Threads – Grants 1,000 XP.

Cosmetic Codes

In addition to all of the above codes, there’s one solitary Cosmetics code you can redeem on MTG Arena. This code was launched during the game’s ‘FNM At Home’ events in 2020, but it’s still valid today. If you like to customize, make sure you get this one redeemed!

  • FNMAtHome – Grants two random Cosmetics.

And that’s your lot! Given that MTG Arena is moving away from codes and towards rewards sent via the inbox, these could be the very last codes we see for the game. You can still claim 42 packs, 4,000 XP, and a handful of Cosmetics, though, so get them while they’re hot!

How To Redeem MTG Arena Codes

MTG-Arena-Codes-Freebies-Redeem

So those are the codes themselves, but how exactly do you go about redeeming them? This is a fairly simple process, but it can be tricky to figure out if you’re brand new. We’ve broken it down into simple steps below.

  • Open MTG Arena using your PC or Mobile device.
  • Navigate to the ‘Store’ tab. This is the fifth tab from the left at the top of the screen, between ‘Packs’ and ‘Mastery.’
  • Click on the ‘Redeem Code’ box in the top-right of the screen.
  • Enter one of the codes from the lists above. Make type them up just right, as some codes are case-sensitive.
  • Hit enter to cash in your code and redeem your rewards!

It really is as simple as that! Of course, there will be times when the codes you try to redeem won’t work as intended. Such is the nature of code redemption. The two most common reasons for this are that the code has expired, or you’ve redeemed it already.

MTG Arena will give you the reason when a code entry fails, so you’ll know whether you’ve missed the boat on a particular code. Expiry dates for the codes above aren’t readily available, so there’s no guarantee they’ll be around forever. It’s best to claim them now, to avoid missing out!

Additional Freebies

Above, we covered the MTG Arena codes and freebies that every player can redeem. There are other avenues for rewards in MTG Arena, however; avenues that are much more exclusive. If you’re willing to take part in real-world events at your Local Game Store, there are more rewards for you to claim.

These rewards can be redeemed the same way as the codes above. The only difference is that they come with much longer codes, that tend to be randomized in each instance. For this reason, we can’t list their specific codes here. What we can do, though, is list the ways in which you can get them.

May 2024 Draft Rewards

This is the current MTG Arena promotion Wizards is running. During the month of May, participating in drafts at your Local Game Store will earn you up to three exclusive rewards. For completing one draft, you’ll get a High Noon Cosmetic Style. Complete two, and you’ll get a Goblin card sleeve. For three, you’ll get a full free draft on MTG Arena!

There are no codes associated with this promotion. Instead, you need to link your MTG Arena account to your Wizards account, and register your completed drafts via the app. If done correctly, the rewards will be delivered to you via your in-game inbox!

Prerelease Packs

If you enjoy taking part in Prerelease events for new sets (and let’s face it, who doesn’t?) then you can get some nice MTG Arena rewards for doing so. Inside your Prerelease pack, you’ll find a card with a code on it, thanking you for taking part. Redeem this code via the method above and you’ll receive six packs of the set in question. This is a great deal, and one of the closest things we have to a physical product being fully transferable to Arena.

Starter Kits

You may not be familiar with Starter Kits if you’re a long-time player. These are sets of two decks, intended to teach two new players how to play the game. The cards included are fairly basic, but they do serve their purpose well enough. Starter Kits are typically released on a yearly basis, but there are two coming up this year. These are the Assassin’s Creed Starter Kit and Bloomburrow Starter Kit.

Each of these kits comes with two codes, both of which give you a copy of each deck on MTG Arena. The intention is to give one code to a friend, so you can learn together digitally as well as in real life. These aren’t a great value proposition for established players. That said, if you’r just starting out, you can get some physical and digital play in at a very reasonable price with one of these kits.

Promo Packs

Finally, we have Promo Packs codes. Promo Packs are given out as rewards in competitive events at Local Game Stores. Each contains three cards from the set the event is tied to, drawn from specific pools and rarities. These are nice extra rewards for strong performances, and there are even foil versions available, too.

Each Promo Pack also includes a code, which can be redeemed on MTG Arena for a free pack of the set in question. This pack isn’t anything special, but it’s still great to get another, especially as a reward for a high finish. Make sure you redeem these codes every time; they add up, especially if you’re regularly taking down FNMs and the like!
