Chattanooga TN has many year-round attractions and outdoor activities, but be warned: if you are involved in a traffic accident within the city limits, the Chattanooga Police will not respond except under very specific limited circumstances. This means you will not receive an accident report; and you must contact the Chattanooga Police department for any necessary forms required by your auto insurance company and fill them out yourself. If the other party refuses to cooperate or has no insurance - which is common for this area - good luck trying to collect damages from the other driver.

If your insurance company requires an actual police investigation and accident report so you can file a claim for damages - well, you are screwed.

This area is breathtakingly beautiful. There are many attractions and scenery for tourists to enjoy in this area. Highly recommend. Plenty of campgrounds and nice hotels.

This was so much fun! We chose this one over Ruby Falls because it’s a lot less touristy and is still very much a “live” cave. We have two teenagers and they loved it, which is really saying something. Ally was a fantastic guide! She really knows her stuff and clearly loves giving these tours. The cave itself was already a neat experience, but she really made it come to life! We would highly recommend it!

The commentary was great and very informative! Lunch in the dining car well worth the additional $ and the service was very nice.

Ruby falls was beautiful. I wish we didn't do the "express" tour. It was very rushed. I would have liked to have more time to take in the beauty along the walk to the falls and take pictures. Stopping to let other groups go by also took up time. We only had 7 people in our group and it was still rushed. I had to take pictures while we ran through the caverns but we did get 5 minutes to take pictures of the beautiful falls.

Sunday morning walk across the bridge, plenty of seats if you need a rest or just to admire the views. A pleasant walk to help with your 10k steps

So much to do! Fun for a variety of ages. We were there over two hours and still didn't see everything. We went on a Friday, and it wasn't too crowded.

This is a great place. Fantastic atmosphere, several whiskey options, great folks working there. You don’t have to do the tour - just sample some whiskey and buy a bottle on the way out. Cheers!

This is a nice park at the north end of the Walnut Street pedestrian bridge. Check out all the unusual animals on the beautiful antique carousel and ride it if you’re young at heart! There’s a fountain/spray park with stone carved animals the kids can climb on. Nearby shops include ice cream, coffee, souvenir and cafes. The weekend we were there, the world disc dog competition was being held. A lovely green space!

This was a beautiful cemetary. We just drove around for about 15-20 minutes as it was the wnd if the day, but it would be a great place to get out and walk around. Great history here!

Eclectic collection of some very rare early (brass & nickel era) cars and an expansive display of motorcycles (most mounted high up so limited viewing). There are more modern vehicles, but this is not a 50s/60s focused museum. Rather something of a specialist museum. Your deeper appreciation will depend on knowing something of this history both early auto racing and motorcars in general. [Or at least so I would think, but judging from the solid 5's below, appears the layperson enjoys as well -- though there are obscurities here and a lot of 'unrestored' examples - perhaps 'old' simply reads 'good' to many] Display suffers from the usual park too close in parallel arrangement. Bring a long lens to actually appreciate the details. I get this as a space saving measure, but it is constantly annoying which makes those collections that don't do this so much more enjoyable. Cars parked in the center disply suffer particularly as they are just stuffed together. It's the display flaws that hold it to 4 stars for me. There is some opportunity to view restoration work in progress, but nothing much was going on while I was there.

It's not *quite* a major city art museum, but the selections are well curated and any number would hold their own in larger galleries on the quality of the work vs name of the artist. Building itself is by a Ghery student and it certainly shows. Agree wonderful views and you can shoot the building from a the pedestrian bridge across the river as well. Slight disappointment in the hstoric house - it's really just been carved into galleries, and while the staircase/entrance remains, you don't get that much of a sense of this building as it once was. Still, appreciation for having preserved it. I was actually in Chatanooga for something else but adjusted my day to spend more time at the Hunter.
