Panthers Sign Former Arkansas Wide Receiver Tyson Morris

The Panthers have signed former Arkansas wide receiver Tyson Morris to add a proven playmaker to the offense.

Morris began his time with the Razorbacks as a walk-on, getting spot duty at receiver and special teams.  Persistence and hard work paid off with a starting position as a senior in 2021 with career highs in catches, yards and touchdowns.  Morris closed his college career with three receptions in the Outback Bowl victory over Penn State.

"I just want to let every young guy out there know that it's possible even if you're underrated or overlooked," said Morris.  "Just work hard with your head down and it will pay off in the end."

Success with Razorbacks means more to Morris than most.  He moved to Fayetteville his sophomore year of school and played at home after his redshirt freshman year at Central Oklahoma.

"Being accepted by so many different families and this program…everybody took me in with open arms and I'm really appreciative," said Morris.

In order to take his game to the next level, Morris trained for about six weeks in Frisco, Texas at Legendary Sport Performance.  The sessions primed him to put up impressive numbers in both broad and vertical jumps at his pro day.  The performance earned him an invitation to the Indianapolis Colts' rookie camp.

"He's got all the intangibles.  I like what he can do as a receiver and he's going to make it that much tougher for someone to make our team at the position," said Head Coach and General Manager Darren Arbet.  "There's a lot competition at the receiver position and he makes it tough.  He can catch the ball and can run with it.  Tyson can do it all."

Morris' father Isaiah played basketball for the Razorbacks during their last year in the Southwest Conference and their first in the SEC.  That second team had five NBA players on it, including Isaiah Morris, who was drafted by the Detroit Pistons.
