Aston Villa could soon make Emiliano Buendia injury announcement – Doctor

Aston Villa midfielder Emiliano Buendia could return to training soon before the season ends, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert has referenced Unai Emery’s comments from February where he hoped the Argentina international could at least be back to some kind of training before the end of May after his ACL rehab.

It could also see the Villa media channels making an official announcement soon if that is indeed the case with the 27-year-old.

Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Villa News:

Emery hoped he would return before the season ends for partial training at least.

“If he is to return to team training by the end of the season which is a month or so then he will be ramping up intensity with his individual training and his strength and conditioning work.

His day to day will consist of gradually ramping up those activities until he’s cleared for partial team training.

It may be worth keeping an eye out for an announcement in the coming weeks if that is the case.

“It will be a big milestone for the player and he should be good to go from day one of pre season, if he indeed is back.

Aston Villa have been without Emiliano Buendia all season due to injury

Buendia played in every league game last season – making 27 starts and 11 appearances off the bench.

He chipped in with five goals and two assists and was crucial in Emery’s side’s strong run towards the end of the campaign.

This season, he suffered a horrific setback before he could even kick a ball and he will now be hoping to return to action in time for the 2024/25 campaign.
