- MoustaphaRamadanAlexandria, Egypt125 contributionsNot more than the viewI went there on Friday morning, so I did not have to wait more than 5 minutes for the lift. The ticket price is not expensive and I do not recommend for Skip the queue tickets. Unfortunately the sky was not clear so I was not able to see the pyramids. You can have nice photos upstairs by your own and downstairs you can get a panoramic pic at a cost of 75 EGP. I think it is a good escape for family and kids.Visited July 2023Written 12 August 2023
- Daniel B54 contributionsFrustrating experience, but magnificent viewsThis was an extremely frustrating experience. The ticketing and entrance process is very difficult to understand - seemingly endless wait-times, and express tickets are released apparently at will, so you have to continuously wait in line to see if any are available, or try different cashiers. Even after you enter the tower you need to wait for another 20+ minutes for the elevator. Same on the way down - huge wait times and no apparent order, with some people able to go to down straight away and others waiting 40+ minutes before being told to enter the elevator. The views are spectacular and once you’re up the top you’ll forget all the hassle, but hassle it is. Be prepared.Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 3 September 2023
- originalwanderingonBrisbane, Australia4 contributionsCairo Tower and Observation DeckGood 2 in 1 experience. Have a bird's eye view of the city by daylight and experience the night lights over dinner during a 45 minute rotation. We booked for a 7:00pm dinner and allowed an hour before for the observation tower....suited us well. There is a café available for snacks as an alternative to the restaurant for dinner.Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 1 October 2023
- David M64 contributionsA great way to end our first trip to EgyptOn our last night in Cairo, one of our party suggested a walk down by the Nile. The streets were teeming with people out to celebrate the Prophet's birthday and the Qasr el Nil Bridge, flanked by lions, was reminiscent of the Charles Bridge in Prague on New Year's Eve. We spotted the Cairo Tower - you can hardly miss it, it's the tallest structure in Cairo - and decided to visit. It looks modern. Somebody thought maybe early 21st century. It came as a big surprise to find that it opened in 1961. Its top is meant to represent a lotus flower. Most people buy tickets to ride to the top and look at the view. We may do this next time. Instead we went into the courtyard. I bought a souvenir at the gift shop, which actually has a few items you can't buy in every other shop. There's a coffee shop too. On this particular night Mustapha invited visitors to have pictures taken with his very good-looking camel and ride it too. Is he there every night? Probably not. But if you find him be sure to say hello. He's a very friendly guy. I suggested al fresco dining in the restaurant, where there was a nice breeze blowing. On the TV was a football match actually taking place in the stadium next door. There is lots of real foliage and it's all very charming. We had Stella beers. On the menu are snacks like chips, Croque Monsieur and Croque Madam. Mustapha came past, giving someone a ride on his camel, and we bought him a beer. It was a great way to end our first trip to Egypt. Try it!Visited September 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 3 October 2023
- Ashraf KEgypt14 contributionsAmazing view and unforgettable experienceI booked dinner and small birthday party in the top restaurant which is rotating 360 degrees. Amazing view and atmosphere. We didn't stay in a quaue as you get express entry when you book for the dinner. Prices are very reasonable compared to other restaurants in Cairo and much cheap compared to Dubai or other touristic cities.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 2 November 2023

There's a restaurant on the top floor. Ticket office is outside, at the entrance. Qasr e Nil bridge & 6th of October bridge, both connect Gezira island with downtown Cairo across the river.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 12 November 2023
- hakim m3 contributionsGreat Views. Worth it.Very beautiful place. There are several restaurants there and we went to what I believe was a steak restaurant. It was at the top of the tower and gave a spinning view of Cairo and the Nile. Astonishing. The staff were amazing and accommodated all of our request with pleasure. Tourist prices in effect, so you will pay a little for this small excursion :)Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 27 November 2023
- NICHOLAS TDubai, United Arab Emirates8,991 contributionsGreat way to see the cityAs the highest point in Cairo, Cairo Tower offers incredible 360 views of the city. Tickets are not expensive and it takes just one minute in the elevator to get to the open air 360 viewing platform. The Sky Bar on the floor below offers food and drink options, including alcohol. A very worthwhile place to visit.Visited December 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 2 December 2023
- Gareth DBrisbane, Australia58 contributionsGreat view and great burgersAfter a week of rushing around seeing all the ancient sites, we were keen for a slow day so decided to visit the tower to watch the sunset. We were not disappointed. The tower isn't crazy tall (I.e. dubai burj) but it has a spectacular view of the city. We had dinner in the Cafe at the top. If you do, get their burgers. Cheap, and the best in Egypt.Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 17 December 2023

Ticket price 250 EGP (or 300 with Food voucher). There is a small lift which takes to 62nd floor quickly. There are couple of binoculors at the top but they are not working. Its not a must visit, but if you have spare time, give it a go.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 19 December 2023

Overpriced and long wait times. Only one tiny lift to take you up and down, so you end up having to queue to go back down as well. I was sold a ticket for the top, but when I got there, the guard rudely pointed me back down to the cafe, where the windows are filthy and you can barely see out. The view is not amazing and when the visibility is poor, there is not much to see anyway. Avoid.

Wow very good experience stunning views over the city of Cairo where you get to see a bigger picture of Cairo, but it takes long time to go up and down, it took me 1 hour of waiting and may be more to take the elevator to go up or down, there is also a restaurant up there, didn't went in, but it may be worth the try.

If you are a solo traveller you can still access the Tower, HOWEVER you cannot access the very top of the tower (that’s only for 2+ people). You can only go to the 61st floor (if I remember) where you can observe Cairo from behind the glass window. Technically, there is nothing wrong with that.
I will compare this to my visit to the Saigon Skydeck (in Vietnam) which is on the 49th floor of the Bitexco Financial Tower. Here, you also observe Saigon from behind a glass window. That said, the Saigon Skydeck completely trumps the Cairo Tower for two main reasons: 1. The windows of the Cairo Tower are grimy so you cannot really see out of them. This is made worse when the sunlight reflects and, 2. There is hardly space to walk around because most is given to the restaurant and the chairs, whereas there is PLENTY of space to walk around the Saigon Skydeck which also has a shop and an exhibition.
I spent about 15/20 minutes in the Cairo Tower because I forced myself to stay that long. After 5 minutes, I was bored. I guess you should visit if you don’t mind eating there with “somewhat” of a view, buuuut this is definitely something you could skip.
I asked one of the workers why solo visitors are not allowed at the very top and she said it was for their own safety incase they wanted to jump off…so I guess a positive is that they are just looking out for the safety of their guests.
One suggestion could be going at a busy time (I went around 9:30am which was definitely not busy) and asking another group or couple if you can pay with them so it looks like you came as a group, but that's a gamble.
Entry price was EGP 250 for solo visitors.

We visited the Cairo tower and the revolving restaurant at lunchtime today and it was one of a kind experience in Cairo, although as not significant as the pyramids. Entry to the tower with an express ticket costs 250 Egyptian pounds which gives you priority access to the lifts. On top of that you also pay 300 Egyptian pounds per person as a down payment for the food which you then redeem from the bill. One condition for the tower is that you can't visit alone so you must either go to the top with a group or a partner. The views once you get there are amazing and worth the wait. Highly recommended!

Our Cairo Tower experience, shared with my significant other, was a romantic ascent into the heart of the city, offering breathtaking panoramic views that painted the bustling metropolis in a different light. As we ascended the tower, anticipation mingled with the excitement of witnessing Cairo from a unique vantage point.
Reaching the observation deck, we were greeted by a stunning panorama that unfolded before us. The city sprawled out beneath, its dynamic energy palpable as the Nile River meandered through the urban landscape. The iconic landmarks, from the pyramids to the citadel, stood as silent witnesses to the city's rich history.
As day transitioned to night, Cairo transformed into a sea of twinkling lights, casting a magical glow upon the urban expanse. Hand in hand, we soaked in the romantic ambiance, capturing the essence of the cityscape as it shimmered in the darkness.

Not simply a tourist trap, but an actual trap. Once you get up you have to spend 30 min or more just waiting to be allowed to go down. And in January it is cold and windy. Total lack of organization, even after we had paid for express tickets, which include visit to the cafe. Best to be avoided, especially on days which are not clear and the visibility is poor.

The most stupidest rule that you can’t go up to panorama because you are alone, but it is allowed for two or more people who are together. Again the most stupidest rule, I’m very disapointed, don’t recomment to solo travelers.

Bom dia!

I am planning on doing a tower to the Cairo Tower that includes dinner in the restaurant. I can’t seem to find any reviews on the food or the menu. Anyone has gone? How is the food? Thanks.

Dinner isn't quite the right word for what you can get there. Minimum spending 200 Egyptian Pound for some snacks and beverages. Food is simple but fair.
