Resilient resistance in Gaza

A mounting death toll, ruined buildings, with no sense of security for civilians. That’s a brief picture of the situation in Gaza, where Israeli airstrikes and shelling continue unabated. In the latest attacks, 20 people were killed after a residential building was targeted in the southern city of Rafah. Three dozen also lost their lives in strikes on Nuseirat and Maghazi refugee camps near the central city of Deir al-Balah. Refugee camps across Gaza, where displaced Palestinians are taking shelter, have become the main target of the Israeli strikes in the past few weeks. The total death toll since October the seventh stands at more than 21,500. Tens of thousands of people have been injured as well. The majority of the victims are women and children.

Israeli targets under attack

Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement has launched new strikes on Israeli targets in retaliation for the regime’s genocidal war on Gaza. Hezbollah said it directly hit the regime’s espionage equipment in the Dolev settlement in the northern part of occupied territories. Israel’s military confirmed the attack, saying anti-tank missiles were also fired from Lebanon towards the settlement of Bar’am. Hezbollah said its fighters also targeted the Hadab Yaron region, hitting it directly. Suspected drone infiltration sirens were also sounded in several parts of the Upper Galilee, near the border between Lebanon and Occupied Palestine. Lebanese media also said two missiles were fired toward an Israeli military position in the occupied Shebaa Farms. Meanwhile, Israel launched air and artillery strikes on several areas in southern Lebanon, including in the outskirts of Naqoura Town. The missiles targeted a vehicle. The area along Lebanon’s southern border has frequently witnessed exchanges of fire between Hezbollah and Israel since the onset of the regime’s onslaught on Gaza in October.

Standing with Palestine

Nearly three months now into the Israeli regime’s onslaught in Gaza, and pro-Palestinian rallies around the world show no sign of losing momentum. In Yemen, huge crowds took to the streets of the capital Sana’a to show their unwavering support for Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Holding Palestinian flags, Yemenis chanted anti-Israeli slogans and denounced the United States’ unconditional support for the regime’s genocide in Gaza. To the occupied West Bank, where people also turned out in Ramallah and Tulkarm to vent their anger at Israeli atrocities inside and outside the Gaza Strip. Jordanians in the capital Amman also added their voice to the global call for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.
