Default font-size is set to Medium - 125%.__How can I change it?

Although I have changed the default font-size from Medium - 125% to Smaller - 100%, the login screen, dialog boxes and some windows still display the font as bigger.

Here are some screenshots of what I mean:

Hi,

To create a custom fonts DPI scale

Windows gives you three preset choices (100%, 125%, or 150%) for making text, icons, and other items on your screen larger than normal size. This is the quickest and simplest way to change their size. But if you prefer, you can change their size to any number between 100% and 500% of normal size using the custom dots per inch (DPI) scale.

1.       Open Screen Resolution by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel.

2.        On the right hand top corner of the screen, click on category and under Appearance and Personalization, clicking Adjust screen resolution.

3.       Click on advanced settings.

4.       Click Set custom text size (DPI) in the left pane.

5.       Click the scale (ruler), drag the setting to whatever percentage size increase you want (100%-500%), and then click OK. (If you prefer, you can type a number between 100 and 500 in the box next to Scale to this percentage of normal size, and then click OK.)

6.       On the Display screen, click Apply.

To see the change, close all of your programs and then log off of Windows. This change will take effect the next time you log on.

Note

If you set the DPI too high for your display, it can increase the size of some items by so much that they no longer fit on your screen.

To make text and on-screen items clearer in programs that aren't designed for high DPI

If you set the dots per inch (DPI) higher than 144 while you're running Aero (the premium visual experience of Windows), text and other items on the screen might appear blurry in some programs that aren't designed for high–DPI display in this version of Windows. You can avoid this issue by using Windows XP style DPI scaling for these programs.

1.       Open Screen Resolution by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel.

2.        On the right hand top corner of the screen, click on category and under Appearance and Personalization, clicking Adjust screen resolution.

3.       Click Set custom text size (DPI) in the left pane.

4.       Select the Use Windows XP style DPI scaling check box, and then click OK.

To see the change, close all of your programs and then log off of Windows. This change will take effect the next time you log on.

Also alter the screen resolution and check if that helps.

Thanks, but that does not help my problem. Although the size is set at Smaller - 100%, some items still display their text too big. My guess, it is because my system has its default text size set to Medium 125%, even though I set it to 100%. (Refer to the screenshots above)

How about MS does not assume people want a 150% setting in the first place? I deploy a lot of systems and every time I have to go set laptops down to 100% instead of 150% as 1080p screens now look like 720 almost....

When Windows 10, version1709, was updated recently, it reduced the scales of all my title bars--too small. Windows 10, newer version, has a scaling of 100-500.  100% is too small and 125 is blurry. I've spent 2 days trying to find help, many people have same problem, but no resolve.  Will this be fixed?  I spoke to a nice gentleman via remote, he didn't fix it either.  The small text and small icon stresses the eyes. If there is no resolve for this, as noted in all the queries, what are we to do.

Also, 100 is recommended and resolution is 1440x900, and when I want to scale to 115, nothing happens,  please either have this fixed, or let us know it can't be done.

thanks. slh

The font size change happened when I was on a website.  I have been unable to get it back to the regular size.
