My overall experience with William Floyd H.S will always be my home. School was a challenge you grow into the person you are. I have some bad and good memories. Some learning experiences and some hat I’ll take with me the the rest of my life. My high school experience has influenced my development as a person inside and outside of the class by making me more independent. The importance of being independent is being secure with who you are and what you believe in. I had a lot of support while attending at WM H.S. The teachers and guidance counselor we also there for me what I needed them. They always wanted to help in anyway they can. I always felt like I can connect with them. I did grow close to some of the teachers. I will miss them dearly. On the other hand trying getting to get onto softball sport team was rough because they took who ever was already attending travel ball or since they payed from 9th and you had to be known.
If your involved with your child's education and with the parent portal it's not that hard. To be involved and communication with the teachers is relatively easy and most of the teachers are extremely helpful and willing to communicate with the parents. The music program is one of the best in the state and my son has enjoyed his experience playing in multiple orchestras. As well as the Youth and Government extra curriculum program offered which has made my son very interested in Law and possibly law school.
I recently started William Floyd High School, at the beginning of the 2023-2024 academic school year, I am enrolled as a sophomore. My time at William Floyd I have met some amazing persons District wide from the teachers, to the office staffs, the security guards, the custodians just to name a few. They have made William Floyd a warm and welcoming space. I have learnt so much and hope to learn more by the end of this School year and my other academic school years to come
