Scholarship Night - June 5, 2024

Each year, tens of thousands of dollars in scholarships are awarded to EHS students by local and national groups.  This year, our outstanding EHS seniors will be recognized on Wednesday, June 5th in the EHS Auditorium.  Please make sure your student reports all awarded scholarships to the counseling office so they will be included.

Senior Picnic - May 29, 2024

The senior picnic will be Wednesday, May 29th and will be held on campus.  Food, fun, and games are all included.  All standards for participation apply.  The last day to clear minutes for this event is the end of school on Thursday, May 23rd.  The last detention opportunity is Thursday, May 23rd. Senior Map

If you have not already done so, please contact your counselor with information on what you plan to do/where you plan to be next year.  We want to add your destination to the map in the counseling office.

Yearbooks

Yearbooks are expected to arrive prior to the end of school. We will announce in the bulletin and on our Facebook page when they are available for pick up.

Transferring EHS Google Account Files

Student Google accounts will be deactivated this summer so it is important to move all important files and emails over to your personal email prior to that.  Please see the flier included in this mailing for more information.

Graduation - June 14, 2024 - 2:00 PM

1.  Returning Materials/Outstanding Fees:  The time to return your textbooks, Chromebooks, hotspots and chargers to the library will be the week of June 10th. All outstanding fees for lost library books, textbooks, Chromebooks, hotspots, athletic gear and other fees must be paid by June 14th, the morning of graduation.  Students who have not honored their debt by this time may not be able to participate in the ceremony or receive their Diploma. Notices regarding overdue materials and fines will be mailed home. These notices will include the current book account status of each student. Use this list to help your student account for and return all items or to make payments for any lost items.  However, students are also encouraged to check their student emails for messages about their book account status prior to the mailing going home, and to contact the library and/or finance office to check on their account at any time before graduation to make sure everything is in order.

2.  Gown, Cap & Tassel Pick Up:  Those seniors participating in the Legacy Grad Walk and touring elementary schools, please pick up your loaner gown on Monday, June 10th between 1:45-4:00 p.m.  You will need to keep them in good condition until graduation.  All other seniors may pick up their gowns Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, June 11, 12 and 13, from 12:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. The location of gown pick up will be announced in the school bulletin the week before graduation.

3.  Graduation Practice: Seniors should plan to gather at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, June 14th at the EHS small gym. All graduating seniors must attend practice in order to participate in the afternoon’s ceremony.  Practice will end at 10:30 a.m.

4.  Graduation Ceremony:

  • Ceremony begins at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 14th at Albee Stadium.
  • Seniors must arrive at the small gym by 1:15 p.m.
  • Seniors must arrive with their cap, stole and gown in hand, not already on.  The Graduation Ceremony is a formal event, we expect everyone to be safe, respectful and responsible.
  • Parking is limited with the current construction. Please plan accordingly.
  • Handicap parking spaces are limited, so a shuttle will be provided for pick up and drop off from the parking lot at the top of the Del Norte hill to the stadium entrance.  Handicap parking spaces will be in the teacher lot between the Library and Agriculture Building.
  • Students and their families should plan to meet on the track in Albee Stadium immediately after the ceremony.
  • Diplomas will be available for pick up at the tables on the South side of the track.

Gown Turn In: Gowns will need to be returned to the tables on the South side of the track. ALL GOWNS ARE RENTED FROM EHS AND MUST BE RETURNED BEFORE DIPLOMA PICK UP.

Safe and Sober Party - June 14, 2024

Thanks to the support of our community, the Eureka High PTSA is pleased to organize the Safe & Sober event on June 14th at the EHS gymnasium. Seniors will celebrate their big day in a safe and fun environment the night of graduation. Registration forms are included in this packet, so please be sure to complete and return the permission form with payment by June 5.  The event will begin at 9 pm and all graduates must be in the door by 10 pm. The party will last until 3 am. Prizes are given away all night! Across the nation, Safe & Sober Graduation parties have significantly reduced the number of deaths on graduation night. Please support this effort and help to ensure that all of our graduates make it safely into bed before the sun comes up on Saturday. If you would like to volunteer or donate to Safe and Sober, please contact Shayna Matteoli at [email protected] or Kären Hammer at [email protected].

We are so proud of the Class of 2024.

Sincerely, Rob Standish, Principal

It contains information, links, forms, and photos to better inform our school community about purchasing yearbooks, submitting senior materials, contributing photos, and contacting yearbook staff with questions and concerns.
