UK-headquartered broadcast technology specialist Ionoco Group has appointed veteran game show producer Tom Herschko to the newly created role of senior vice-president at its LA-based office.

In his new role, Herschko will manage the day-to-day operations and management of the office.

The company provides game show technology to shows such as NBC’s The Wall and World of Dance, and Fox’s Beat Shazam.

Herschko comes to iocono as an experienced game-show producer. In the course of his 18-year career, he helped develop numerous competition and game show projects for production companies including Endemol, Alevy, Talpa, Katalyst, Matador Content, Kinetic, Evolution and Wilshire Studios.

Previously, Herschko worked as VP of development for FremantleMedia North America and head of TV development for Woody Thompson’s prodco, Eyeboogie.

He began his career on NBC’s Fear Factor as an assistant to EP, David Hurwitz. He went on to become one of the show’s producers for six seasons.

Since then, Herschko has developed and produced formats on U.S. television including NBC’s The Biggest Loser, E! Network’s Botched, Fox’s Don’t Forget the Lyrics, and Food Network’s Chefs vs City.

“It would be difficult to find somebody with more experience of the U.S. game-show world who also gets what we do, than Tom. He understands the pressures of the creative process and appreciates what’s possible technologically to deliver that vision, and he knows and is respected by everybody in the business,” said Simon Ingram, founder and chief executive, in a statement. “Best of all, with Ionoco’s L.A. outpost in Tom’s safe hands, I can focus more of my time on the next phase of Ionoco’s evolution — bringing TV advertising into the digital age with real-time tools and technology.”
