When Yurio arrived at Yuuri’s house and saw that the lights were all dark, he felt disappointment twist sharply in his chest. A part of him wanted to wave down the uber he’d just gotten out of, to go back to his own house and be done with the whole thing.

(In which Viktor has the most romantic crisis ever. Meanwhile Yakov is staring at the ceiling, regretting all his life choices, and seriously considering sending this lovesick fool back to Japan).
At the very least, Katsuki had remained in Japan to prepare for Japanese Nationals. Yakov could not be more grateful for the arrangement. With him gone, Viktor would focus and not get distracted.
Or so Yakov thought.
Viktor’s absence over the past year had caused Yakov to forget a rule he had learned long ago: never underestimate Viktor’s ability to make petty and unnecessary drama.
