Q:
How busy does this place get around new years?
A:
It gets pretty pack, but weekdays & nights (after 5) are usually pretty slow.
Mariel S.2 years agoQ:
Do they have a lodge where non skiers or even skiers can warm up after a run? I'm thinking of the ski resorts out west that have nice cozy fireplaces and comfy couches.
A:
Yes, there is a cafeteria and a bar lounge near the big ski lift. They have a small village.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Do not plan on going to this shithole unless you are a sheep that likes to wear your mask. They do not let anyone get on the lift unless you have your diaper on. If you do not they will kick you out and have you escorted to your truck by police officers who do not wear their own masks. I will not be back. Complaint has been filed on Officer Gary Miller with Beech county PD.
******* Since I cannot reply to you can you kindly explain for everyone who reads this review so they can understand as can I. If the mask policy is mandated would you like to explain why masks are not required to be worn when purchasing a lift ticket? That's the first red flag, you don't require mask when handing you guys money however when you attempt to enjoy what was paid for suddenly they are enforced? Also can you explain why they are not required while INSIDE the brewery whether in line or paying once again. Can you also explain why your officers on duty were not required to wear their masks? Seems like your policies are only enforced when you feel like it.Business owner information

Austin,
Thank you for the feedback. Our mask policy (or diaper policy as you call it) is state mandated. We are merely following the rules and asking that our customers do the same. We do not get law enforcement involved unless a customer is making threats against our staff members. Your agressive and threatening behavior resulted in the situation being escalated. We pride ourselves on a safe and family-friendly environment. We are not willing to compromise that for a customer that is being rude, threatening, aggressive, and difficult. We handled the situation as fairly as we could. I hope that you can reflect on your behavior before you visit any other ski area.
Thank you. - Rebekah T.New Port Richey, FL0112/27/2020
12/27/20, 1800 hrs operation tubing on Beech Mountain. Your mission if you choose to take it, get on the escalator of death, venture to the top of mount doom, grab a cradle of death, and sled to your death.
So we took a group of six kids to Beech Mountain tonight to go tubing at 6pm. Kids were amped as it was their first tubing session of our winter trip. As our kids went up to the top, we began to realize that the bottom of the slope was extremely icy. Reality hit when we observed a grown man slide all the way to the top of the back stop (which is a snow/ice quarter pipe at the bottom of the tubing hill). This grown man slid all the way to the top and appeared to go over the top, but at the very end of his ride he stood up at the top of the back stop and appeared ok. Then my nine year old daughter came down approximately four minutes later on her second time down, slid all the way to the top of the backstop, slid off the top and down the back side and crashed into a wooden Beech Mountain sign. She, my wife, and myself were petrified as my wife and I went running to the back side of the back stop to find her resting against the wooden sign with pure terror written all over her face. We ended up asking the sixteen year old employee at the bottom of the hill to shut down the ride as it was apparently two icy. He looked at me as if I had three heads. I informed him that the gentlemen almost went over the top of the back stop and my daughter had gone over and there was significant chance that someone was going to get hurt. He then spoke the well informed words of a sixteen year old employee, "what do you want me to do?" I asked if he had a radio and he said, "yeah." I then said you need to radio to the the employee at the top of the hill and have him stop anyone from going down. He once again looked at me as if I was growing a set of testicles off my forehead. The employee then walked off, I grabbed the other five kids and left, thankfully with no injuries.
Completely inept staff and no refund even though each kid had two runs of the tubing hill with a total of about 12 minutes spent there.

To qualify to work here do you have to be extremely rude?? The staff are horrible. Abigail, who was working the ticket booth seemed like she was having the worst day of her life, didn't look at me once, no smiling, barely talked to me. I even tried asking her questions but she straight up just wouldn't answer them or would speak at a volume 2. She really pissed me off. I spent $500 at this place, I expect a warm inviting welcome from the staff, is that so hard to ask for? The bartenders at the top of the mountain were straight up RUDE. Just yelling at you, getting frustrated and hating life. The only nice employees I spoke with was a female bartender at the brewery and Ray. I just don't understand how these employees are trained to be so nasty. Management, work on your employees attitude because one day they're gonna tick off the wrong person.

I took my family to Ski this weekend for the first time. I spent well o we $600. The slopes were so packed you could not practice on the bunny slope. The lines for the other slopes we only got one run in before it was time to leave. The worst part was the staff. Only 3 people that worked there was nice. One kid working in the ski rentals shop was so combative with customer. He was actually threatening people. Masks are required which is fine, but there were so many people in there you could not hear what the staff was asking and they could not hear you. This one kid that worked there would stop helping his customer to scream at another customer to put their mask on. We explained we were but also trying to answer questions. He would then make rude comments or threaten people that they would not be able to ski. He was doing this to everyone. Some customers had to get rough with him and he did not stop with the rude unnecessary comments. I did not pay $600 and drive hours for abuse. I'll never go back.

We went to buy tubing tickets and all the signs said sold out at 8:00am. We called and spoke to the manager, Morgan, whom was very rude and not helpfu. She reassured us that the tickets were not sold out however the signs are still out. So we get back in line to be told all tickets are sold out at 8:30. We recalled to speak to the manager who didn't care that we had been in line since 7:50am and all tickets are sold out! This is the most unorganized business we have ever dealt with and will not return!!!!

I've been to a couple of different ski resorts but my favorite thing about beech mountain is how it feels like a little village when you arrive. Instead of just one big building they have multiple buildings for coffee, beer, food, etc. The fire pit and ice skating rink in the middle just puts me in a good mood. It's so cozy! The first time we came, we brought our ski and boarding gear from another rental place. This past time, we rented from the beech mountain rentals and I immediately regretted it. We wasted an hour of slope time standing in line for our skis. And the layout of the building was not helping. For some reason it was just a frustrating giant cluster of people. So for the future I will plan that into our plans or possibly just rent elsewhere, again.
My other statement isn't their fault, but I just want to help anyone that is reading these reviews planning a trip. The comments about needing 4wd and possibly chains is stated like a broken record when you book a stay in the mountains and you see signs at the bottom of steep paths. But you truly need to take it seriously. It was not snowing as we were heading up to the resort. It started snowing heavily while we were skiing. We actually sat in a line trying to leave the resort for over 2 hours. People were having trouble getting down the mountain so we had to wait for a salt truck to come salt the roads and we had to wait for it to melt. Nobody could go anywhere. It was a nightmare. Going back down was VERY scary. I was very glad to be in a truck with good tires and someone who is comfortable behind the wheel. It's also a lot scarier at night than during the day. But people NEED to hear this and know this when planning their trip up the mountain.
We will continue to come back to beech mountain and create memories! - John F.Banner Elk, NC011/3/2021
The best part of this resort was leaving. Horrible customer service and unfriendly staff.

COVID BREEDING GROUND-- Slopes were great, lift lines were short but the mask enforcement was NON-EXISTENT. Very few people were wearing masks and absolutely no one was wearing them inside. The ski rental areas, brew houses and restaurants were PACKED with no social distancing or masks worn. I would suggest trying to go on a weekday and make sure to steer clear of any inside areas

I've never seen so many loser ass people working in one place. Everyone here working hates their job. I guess I would too if I was grown and working here lol. From renting skis, to trying to get food, the whole place blows. I will never come back.

My review is mainly regarding the mountain rescue/response team.
They are the reason that I would recommend this mountain to anyone .
Someone, in my family was very hurt on the slopes when their rented skis never detached .
The medical response team responded immediately they were there in less time then I've waited for ambulances with the hospital 5 mins away .
They took better care and showed more compassion for saving lives then I have ever seen from the police or any medical response team in the city where you die waiting or drive yourself hoping you don't bleed out on the way .
Thank you, for having this resort take safety and put it inthighest priority
Stephen, the medical response medic who helped us was not only a extremely trained but he was caring , understanding and knew how to deal with not only the rescue but also in calming us down .
Francis, in the medical ward was amazing and every protocol to have proper medical following the accident arranged
So thank you to the medical response team you guys make this resort my favorite.
I'll let the horrific ski lifts complaint pass (especially the main lift with a moving walkway which goes completely to the top of the mountain .
The lift however seems to speed up until it slams you in the butt as your trying to keep your balance on a moving walkway then dumps you on your face at the end, lol.
However, the wonderful medics well makes up for the lifts which in actuality aren't any worse than the Sugar or Appalachian resorts but still suck.Business owner information
